Having finished the level 50 dark knight quest recently, I was left with questions regarding Fray, and whether they were meant to be seeable, or whether it just looked like the player was talking to themselves from an NPC's point of view. Looking into this led me to a translation of the original Japanese script, and I was irritated enough by the differences to make this thread.

In the Japanese, it's quite obvious that others see Fray, as they occasionally refer to them. However, these moments are removed in the English version, and after Fray looses their temper with the merchant, Styrnlona addresses the player as if they were the one ranting, saying"[PLAYER], sir, I… You have every right to be upset, but…"

The changes to the English really make it seem like we're supposed to wonder if Fray was just a figment of the player's imagination, and I simply don't see the point of this change. It completely changes one's perception of the quest, in my opinion, and not necessarily in a good way.

Furthermore, I'd like to complain that the English version of Fray came across as much edgier, whereas Japanese Fray felt angry, but also sad. They just felt like a deeper character in Japanese.

I know this is an old quest, but these changes honestly hurt the dark knight storyline for me.
