I mean, they don’t always fully make gameplay changes in response to Western feedback, but I was replying to a forum post about the supposed lack of listening altogether. My Hrothgar self would like to keep his lovely and cute ears for newer hairstyle options, yes.
OP needs to get out more.
I mean, nowadays?
It feels like every Western dev nowadays thinks that having conventional power fantasies is like some great social ill that they need to save us from.
We're at the point where stuff like the Malkavians in Vampire Bloodlines became a big deal because they were a '' poor representation of the mentally ill '', so now we can't have them be wacky and comedic in Bloodlines 2...
There's apparently quite a lot of people who unironically can't separate reality from fantasy.
Only exceptions I can think of really both in regards to Conan-esque male characters and more conventionally feminine female characters are old and are from sometimes over a decade ago.
And the Conan-esque male characters have a tendency to become sad dads or have to become more pacifistic.
In the West when it comes to gaming nowadays it's all average and frumpy people whether men or women, lest some ultra insecure person with actual mental health problems who needs actual help plays it and feels bad.
Lookin pretty today kirod
Imo someone who plays a Male Viera in a speedo wearing makeup and a flower crown is 500 times more masculine per default for just behaving like a normal human being as a person.
Than someone who plays an Orc in WoW wearing big spiky armor and a huge axe who has unhinged and rage-filled mental breakdowns in voice chat and screeches about '' weebs ''.
A man is someone who's secure in himself and doesn't feel like they have to prove to everyone how manly they are, that's what young boys do.
Only low testosterone levels in this game, boys.
