Tomes of Folklore?

Background... got my crafter set up and melded... now want to get my gatherers set up. Look at collectibles, holy smokes, 44 purple scripts per item turned in whereas I got 144 doing the crafting ones (AND I crafted those collectibles, making 20-25 at a shot)... this is gonna take a lot longer. I gather there is some connection to these tomes of folklore. My Gathering Log shows NO regional folklore ("you haven't read") in any of the three EW areas. Now I do remember doing some of them but no idea where I may have left off... so how can I can I tell what I have done??

Further muddling things, I see you need C tokens AND I happen to have a B token in my inventory... huh?

Then I read I only need one folklore tome per speciality. So why are there 3?

The Appraiser does seem to have 2 level 90 starred collectibles for each of MIN & BTN. Tired one, it did give me that paltry 44 purples per each one. My Gathering Log shows (under Collectibles 81-90) a lvl 90 (starred) gather one only on one of the each sub specialities of MIN & BTN. Like 2 in Harvesting, none in Logging.

What might I be missing out on here?

you get the C tokens in Radz-at-Han with White Gatherer Scrip. There are tomes for MIN/BOT/FSH for the areas in EW - like for the moon, ultima thule etc.. they won't show up in your gathering log until you use the books. the legendary node items can get you more Purple Gatherer scrip. but really the only reason right now to get Purple gatherer scrip is for buying EW Gathering Materia IX/X's. and you can get far more of those from spiritbonding lv 90 pentamelded white gathering gear and just going out and gathering legendary node items. (also protip, use items that increase spiritbonding too for that)

The A, B, and C tokens are for Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker tomes respectively.

It varies by expansion but Endwalker has three tomes per class, so nine total. (SB had six while ShB only had three.)
