Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!
As for the future only have one thing at the moment I would like to see. Please for the love of all mighty let us butt housing items like couches and chairs firmly against walls. Its so annoying having to storeroom glitch them against a wall.![]()

I would really like updated UI design at some point:
* Removal of inconsistent and unnecessary "middle man" menus that you have to click through.
* Wholly object-based items and equipment for every system involving them: drag-and-snap to move, a "multiple selection" feature for dragging/deleting items.
* No more character animations for highly repetitive things like desynth/melding/crafting. It makes these systems actively unfun, even for bulk crafting.
* Armor Inventory subdivided into "assigned to job templates" versus "free." The current intermingling is very cluttered and often results in accidentally deleting BiS gear.
* Ability to single-click close out of entire menus.
* Auto-close dialogue/menus upon walking away.
Other things:
* Removal of off-hand weapons. It's a dumb, ugly limitation for crafters, and unnecessary to keep all the inventory space just for PLD shields.
* Removal of crafting-as-jobs. They all play the same and are boring to level *and* play because they are slow, unengaging, and needlessly complicated. Is not actually skill-based because nearly everyone uses macros. Changing your whole gearset just to craft is a pointlessly frustrating step. Keeping all this crafting gear onhand just clutters your inventory. Still having crafting specialties and levels would be fine. If crafters each played differently I could maybe see a stronger case for keeping them but they are sooooo much unfun bloat in the game.
* Removal of location-based systems. We have linkpearls. We have magic. We are practically gods in the game. I get "virtual realism" or whatever as gameplay immersion but no other MMO actively slows down basic gameplay loops like this. It is painful to go from other MMOs to this and have to find a marketboard or inn just to engage with fundamental systems.
* Removal of the glamour dresser altogether. Again, we have magic. We shouldn't have a cap on what past gear we can glam. It would also make the limitation on glamour plates far less frustrating, and removing any sort of "inventory" system associated with glamours might actually free up space for inventory elsewhere, as well as probably be implemented in a way that totally removes a glamour inventory cap.
* Removal of MSQ roulette. Make MSQ playable with AI party members ala squadrons or trusts.
* Removal of a full-party party requirement for all content before the current expansion (or before the prior expansion, perhaps), have an auto-populate feature where after five minutes without a full party, the duty will start and all unfilled party slots will be AI. It is ridiculous how difficult it is to assemble teams for older content when all you want to do is farm stuff. I would also consider implementing something similar for 24/48-man raids which also take forever to queue for. I would be fine with a handicap of the AI sucking so the duty doesn't go as smoothly/quickly, but that would still be more fun than *not getting to do it at all for the entire evening*.
* Auto-dismount in battle.
* Glamour change available outside of cities.

Can Y'shtola stop disappointing. I keep wanting to see her start taking names and kick butts, yet it never happens. Like covered in the blood of her enemies and looking for more.
As for better graphics, I question that ever happening. Its a full expansions worth of work to redo the existing assets, yet it won't bring them more subs. The existing content won't hold people for an additional 2 years while they redraw the game.
Dont think we will ever see much combat out of Y'shtola. She is in the same vein as Krile more researcher and problem solver then fighter. She no doubt could hold her own in a fight but fighting is not really her forte.Can Y'shtola stop disappointing. I keep wanting to see her start taking names and kick butts, yet it never happens. Aside from some aspects of SHB, I'm not the biggest Y'shtola fan but I'd say it is her forte, seeing as she is a trust combo of a BLM and a WHM, and bailed Hien out when fighting Daidukul and Magnai. But she's not the kind to revel in it, that much is true.
When the game's story becomes self-aware:
For me key points would be:
* Update ARR/post-ARR instances to use modern mechanics symbols
* Re-do westwind/prae/centri and Crystal Tower in some way
* Refresh guildheist, maybe also think about adding new entries per patch, like say for Dohn Mheg and Malikah's Well final boss unique mechanics.
* Create alternative ARR quest chain that is shorter/faster ("it gets good in heavensward")
* Fix bad exp from fates and roulettes (when you get a lower level instance, or capstone instances when leveling an alt job)
*** (and maybe allow getting exp boxes when on max level/job in need to then use on a DPS job that has long queues).
* Look how the game would scale with subsequent expansions (1-100, 1-150... this can get problematic).
If it were up to me, I'd have them completely stop trying to make different types of content - and pour those resources into more and better dungeons, trials, raids and MSQ.
remove that stupid class restriction on gear for glamour indeed.
...better pvp lol
The one thing I want them to work on as their primary focus for 6.1+ is to expand their staff for the love of god. With a playerbase that's rapidly growing and the "minorities" in the playerbase, in terms of people who immerse themselves in certain content and want more of it, are reaching well beyond just a few thousand people. "Only a small percentage of the playerbase does X content so why should they put time and resources into it" should no longer be a thing that's said because a small percentage of a huge playerbase is still a LOT of people. And now that we know how much their profits jumped since last summer, there's no excuse left for them to not hire more people and expand their teams. They need to reach a point where there's enough employees for every player, from the RPers who always have the perfect glamours, to the ultimate farmers who have one of each weapon from all 3 ultimates, to the market board crafting tycoons who are sitting on 999999999 gil, to have 100% assured access to fully fleshed-out GOOD content that appeals to them. Expand the design teams so we can get better overworld textures, higher definition character models, better glamour and customization options, and so on. Expand the battle content teams so we can ensure beyond any shadow of a doubt that we'll get at least two ultimates each expansion, make future high end content more interesting and varied, ensure that we get our Bozjas and deep dungeons each expansion, and so on. Once they actually make motions to grow their team, then we can start actually asking for that sort of stuff.
