Warning for "Grief" Tactics?!

Expecting SE to conform to YOUR idea of what is fair or thinking that what you believe is the "right way" and you expect them to unilaterally punish everyone who's breaking your personal rules as well as the established SE rules to be "fair" is setting yourself up for frustration and disappointment as well as eventual stronger punishments if you continue in your habits that may be incurring you reports. The idea that "I get a leaver punishment and that is enough!" isn't your call to make. Just like "I had to defend myself!" isn't an excuse the GM's accept for abusive chat.


Arguing your point here on the forum is pretty pointless, absolutely none of us have any power over their decisions and neither do the community managers.

I replied to present a possible avenue to NOT lose the resources you've invested in the game at a random point in the future. Your call on what you're going to do.

I'd rather quit the game entirely than conform to some whiners idea of how I "should" be playing the game. I couldn't care less about them, or their opinions. They should respect others, and learn how to actually play the game. I'm tired of it. I shouldn't be forced to coddle players, or be shackled inside an instance when there is a leaver penalty. If there is a leaver penalty that IS the punishment. If they are going to start imposing warnings or strikes on a player's account over leaving, then they need to remove the leaver penalty.

I am incredibly annoyed at receiving a warning for something I didn't do. It's ridiculous that a person's account that they have spent considerable amounts of money on can be in jeopardy over a playstyle. I do take any report against me due to some temper tantrum someone threw as a personal attack. Reporting someone is done with the intention of getting a player banned, and I do not take that well.

I'm tired of it. I shouldn't be forced to coddle players, or be shackled inside an instance when there is a leaver penalty. If there is a leaver penalty that IS the punishment. If they are going to start imposing warnings or strikes on a player's account over leaving, then they need to remove the leaver penalty.

There are a lot of cases in which a punishment is immediate but also cumulative. Immediate consequences are necessary to alleviate frivolous infractions and further consequences for those who are serial abusers. Like a speeding ticket. Every single one of them has a fine, but if you rack up enough of them you lose your license. If you remove the initial punishment you'll just move straight up to the big whammy and people will act like they didn't realize it was bad to do what they were doing cause "nobody said anything".

They'd be the only ones who work for or possibly have ANY way of forum posts getting to actual people who could do something about a company policy or implementation. If you're just here to vent then nevermind the reference.

Generally people report others because they don't want to encounter that behavior anymore. When it aligns with a rule or policy the GMs enforce, then you get punished.

I hope your appeal goes through successfully since you seem so very distraught about this warning, but I also hope you might change something about your behavior after this potential learning opportunity to save yourself from a repeat. I don't have a lot of confidence in that last one, but there's always hope.

No, they are objectively playing wrong. That's literally the difference. If a full group of these sort of players joins a duty, the duty often times cannot be completed. Why? Again, they are playing wrong. This isn't ESO, or whatever where you have hundreds of skills and different builds, there is pretty much an objective way to play this game. SE can claim whatever they want, but "play your own way" doesn't actually exist within the design of this game.

Leaver penalty does get worse the more you leave, as far as I am aware. I do not actually leave enough in a short enough time to attain these penalties, I leave often, but it's sparingly, over weekly periods.

Yes, however, they know how heavy-handed SE can be when it comes to punishments. Many gain satisfaction in knowing they may have gotten somebody banned, because obviously whatever they did was in the wrong! No,I will not change anything about my behaviour. I didn't do anything wrong. Nor is my playstyle wrong. I have played this way for five years, somebody got lucky with some strongly worded hate mail and a sympathetic GM, I assume.

If you want to "play how you want, or quit" then play how you want until there are enough instances of your wants clashing with other people's that you reach your third strike and "quit".

If you don't want strikes and warnings, play the game in a way that keeps other people happy.

i keep seeing that repeated. I can understand that people are often very attached to their accounts, however we don't own them, irrespective of how much money has been spent. Someone who has spent thousands has the same privileges as a sprout, and the same restrictions as well. it doesn't change (nor should ) how a GM interprets the rules. Not that I am in any way stating that you did, I don't know, and no one here can intervene.

If the person valued their account as much as they say they do, they would be nicer in-game. I can only hope more people start getting an attitude adjustment honestly.
