Well, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. You said you've done hundreds. I compared your experience, with my experience, plus what I've read online. You let me know when you see one and I'll step down from my apparent hot take. Loot pools were changed at some point. Maybe that was when you were getting shell leather from group maps.

It's ok. Don't believe me. What's funny is if you actually read one of the links you provided, you'd see other people saying the same thing I have. Bet you look silly now.I don't need to provide experience.

Ah, you're right. They do seem to be discussing that.
I mean... Yes, I do look silly. I don't know why you feel the need to be adversarial about it. In my defense it seems this update was in the last 4 months, which would align with shadowbringers and one of the last times most people did level 80 maps. It also seems like they want to confirm it first before updating the various pages. So. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ My only defense is that every site still says it's on the level 80 group maps and I was operating under the assumption that it had not changed.

If anything, the maps are probably too lucrative if the RMT farmers have been exploiting them as a source of income.
Toning down the gil rewards and increasing the amount of item drops to compensate might fix that, though...or they could just start actually banning them instead, because an entire party of level 80-90 bots takes a significant amount of time to set up.
They'll just sell the item drops. SE needs to give the anti botting team more staff, otherwise the botting will never be effectively combatted. If anything, the maps are probably too lucrative if the RMT farmers have been exploiting them as a source of income.

They move loot around after a while, especially the crafting materials as new ones get added. I just had a Shell Leather drop from a Gliderskin map 2 days ago on one of my alts. You may want to give those a try.I've been repeatedly doing quite literally hundreds of level 80 maps for shell leather with my FC. I'm not even joking, we've done a hundred-odd of them now.
We made it to the end ONCE and not a single one of the maps has dropped a single thing of shell leather. It's insane. I am curious if they've done something.
All that does is make the item drops even more worthless due to a flood of supply. Most of the times I run maps, I end up vendoring a lot of the items anyway because it's just cheap crafting mats and bad materia. The "big" items like the cloth or orchestrions have dropped quite low in price, so increasing droprate would render them valueless. If anything, the maps are probably too lucrative if the RMT farmers have been exploiting them as a source of income.

They have to tackle the bots. No other way around it. Their options are let bots ruin maps, ruin maps to stop bots, or actually tackle the issue. So far they're just sticking their heads in the sand and leaving it at option 1, similar to crafting.
