These are the queue times I used to experience when doing the MSQ on a tank on other data centers.
Well, what time is it there? Late night?
It's like, 2am according to Google... That's why queues suck lol...

If you switch to a tank or healer role, does it happen too?
Cheers
The queue happened at 22:00 AUS time, and I was a Summoner.
I see this time to time on Excalibur, which is a Legacy server, while queueing as a DPS. It's nothing new. This is where being in an active FC comes in handy.
This is not really specific, as there is no one 'Australian time', as Australia actually has 3 main time zones (Australian Eastern Standard Time, GMT+11 hours for Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne and Hobart, Central Australian Standard Time; GMT+10 and a half hours for Adelaide, Darwin and Alice Springs, and Australian Western Standard Time; GMT+8 hours for Perth, not including the states that currently have Daylight Saving active which confuses things even more. Thus time zones can vary up to three and a half to four hours between east and west.
Also, there is only the one data centre for Oceania at the moment, where other regions have multiple data centres, thus they can draw in more players for duty finder than what the AU data centre can.
Incidentally your character information under your avatar says you're nearly level 90. If you just need it for your main scenario just run it solo unsynced, as a level 90 should be able to steamroll it pretty much, even as ACN/SMN/SCH, given it's level 70 content. Or find another level 90 person to run you through it, again unsynced (the Party Finder, not Duty Finder, is ideal for that).

Number of data centers doesn't matter, as df isn't cross DC, only servers within a DC. But AUS only has what 5 world's? So that's part of it.
