I figured I would be that guy and go ahead and make this thread since all the other hamlet defense threads have faded into obscurity due to lack of interest from the player base.
It is really a shame that we finally have content that is doable with so many classes and setups that have basically been overlooked by the community as content that isn't worth doing if it isnt in atleast phase 2. I understand that we will need to get seals from this content for whatever is coming at a later date, but it is basically unrewarding otherwise. Even when I had 2 people in my group in the top 20 provisioners last night doing this all we got for our efforts were dark matter.
Why is it that you decided to place a reward system like this in the game that was supposed to be viable content. It is a 10-20 minute fight with a 15 minute lock out. If you go straight for the boss the battle is actually shorter than the lockout period. Why? What was the thought process in designing the content this way?
Why is it that you designed a system where after I exhaust 250k worth of tradeable materials only to find out within the last 5 hours of the provisioning period the lowest score on the top 20 has now tripled to 600k I am stuck unrewarded for my efforts.
Why is it that if the provisioning phase doesnt get to atleast level 2 any team going in to do the content has no hope of getting rewarded with anything other than fireworks 99% of the time?
So I ask this to the devs, are you guys looking into adjusting the rewards from hamlet defense to make them actually worth doing? You went in the right step with the garuda totems yet took a step backward with this content as the rewards are mediocre at best unless we exhaust a ton of time to get into the top 20, at which point there is still a risk we will be beaten out by the people who manage to sit in one spot next to the npc all night crafting militia swords for 13 hours in a row and not get any sort of reward for our effort.
And I would like to ask the community, what would you like them to add to hamlet defense to make it worth doing? I know everyone kind of jumped on board for the weekend to try and get a head start on the seals but how long will it be before people start to lose interest because it is basically a waste of time?
