Yes, and the truth is gearing doesn't matter.
People clear with crafted gear every tier. So how long it takes to get bis is irrelevant, outside the draw for people getting gear (and the crutch it provides)

So... Are you asking for them to remove gearing because it's a crutch? Or do you just want to be able to gear in a month and quit until the next tier 8 months later?
I'm confused on your request lol. You already said you only log in for raid.

I want to be able to gear other job faster because only playing one job for months when there is so many jobs in this game is boring and it shouldn't be like that , maybe back in Heavensward and stormblood when we had less jobs it was okay but not anymore.

but like you said tho there is group that do need gear to clear the savage tier and i help them everyday with my main job but i just get bored to play just one job when there is literally 19 jobs rn in this game
The end of a patch is when its the most fun because you can play all the jobs that you want with good gear and go help other peoples clear the raid tier.
How the gear itself is designed is a problem in FFXIV. All the gears are just stats sticks with no intersting effect by themselves, making them basically boring.
Meaning that you can't really put new ways to get equipment as it is now. Because if you want players to be appealed to your new content, you would need the gear to be at an ilvl higher than crafted gear, and equivalent or slightly lower than tome gear. Basically, it's pointless.
Also, with such a vertical design, the gear you get will be obsolete by the new raid patch anyway.
However, if you put an effect on some items, you could make other contents relevant, without sacrificing the gearing progression.
For instance, let's say a ring have the effect "Your Adloquium will now have a 100% critical chance" obtainable with hunt marks. ilvl won't matters as much, and if scholars fiund this ring interesting, they will now have something else to do other than expert roulette.
And while I don't agree with everything Xenosys said in his video, it's obvious that the gearing process in FFXIV is seriously beginning to feel outdated. And that's especially true for a game that advertise itself as a "Play all class in one character" while making it so inconvenient to gear multiple jobs.
With that said, we can also talk how melee dps have 3 differents gear set when the caster only have 1. To make gearing easier for main job and alt, fusing the Maiming, Striking and Scouting gear would already eases thing quite a bit. Altough for the last one, we could argue that it can be mixid with the Aiming gear.
The system is not broken by any means, at least not yet, but it can be much better than that.
Also, I don't think chasing BiS is an optional content. FFXIV is first and foremost an RPG. Getting better gear is partly what makes RPG interesting, weither you are a casual player who get to play 1 hour a week, or a hardcore who spent 8+ hours a day IG.

The majority of this thread should just be moved to the "hot takes" thread at this point. This is comedy gold!

So get a Penta set and farm the heck out of Savage?

Then go in as your main and open the coffers on your alt?it's a 8 peoples fight , just because i do my rotation perfectly doesn't mean the boss will die. In pf "clear party" you either die to the enrage or you kill it during the cast of the enrage , its super rare to kill the boss when people play perfectly without any death . That is why i will not go help people clear savage with a job who only have crafted gear only.
