Crafting?

Do remember you can take out your materia to put back in to better gear when it comes out, and you can extract materia from your gear!

Did something change in EW? In ShB for pieces where I had 2 materia, I'd only get one back and I had no choice which one. So far I seem to b e getting all pieces back... although they are lvl VIII and below.

Funny story, played WoW for many years... I got really creative with macros... I'd double up with 2 spells/procs (on one keystroke) and have code that IF one won't fire (different CDs), both the audio and visual clues were gone. Always working 100% until a few years ago where it got broken... always thought it was their devs screwing us over.

Every time I ask a question I am told to go to the Balance discord. My experiences there has been just awful, everyone talks in jargon I do not understand and when I ask what was meant, boom no reply (and onlly 1 in 5 times I get any kind of answer). Seems to be a place for those with 5-10 years playing the game with their own internal codes for things like actions. Fortunately, here that never happens!

Unfortunately, this is a common problem. Some players can only convey their level 90 min-max information to new players even though it doesn't pertain to those new players because they are low level or not doing the "challenging" or "endgame" content. They also don't keep what they say simple for new players and insist on explaining all caveats and exceptions, making it unnecessarily confusing.

I don't know a lot about crafting, but my understanding is the latest things are meant to be more challenging to craft while old things, even from two major patches ago, become easier to craft and don't ask for as much effort to be put into the gearing.

I hear ya, am thankful there are a group of guys, like yourself, who are into clear and patient explanation. Part of the issue outside of this forum is this is a very complex game, and the number of years played can be a HUGE factor. While some of the folks in my FC have been amazingly helpful (I am always in the best crafted gear they simple make for me) they all have been playing 5-8 years while I have yet to reach one year played. There is just so much I don’t know!
