"To The Edge" would make a great dungeon theme or something, but in my opinion it just doesn't set the appropriate mood for a climactic boss battle against the BBEG. It's chill, mellow, kind of laid-back feeling. Good track, but completely out of place compared to the type of epic bombast we usually get for a clash that caps off a main story arc.
To the Edge felt like the ultimate send off for Ardbert however, so its somewhat fitting."To The Edge" would make a great dungeon theme or something, but in my opinion it just doesn't set the appropriate mood for a climactic boss battle against the BBEG. "Close in the distance" is super lame and overrated. I think it's the lames song of the whole OST
Will put you on ignore if you can't form a logical argument but argue nonetheless
Lukewarm take; EW was a mid expansion at best, full of unnecessary filler and stakes that never felt like they mattered given how little they actually ever impacted anyone of note outside of random, nameless NPCs. While certain moments were great, the twists were extremely predictable, "mysterious" motives were extremely clear, and nearly every potential branch was cut off before it became anything meaningful (the body-hopping was probably the most egregiously pointless.) Not even going to get into the insane levels of pandering w/ certain characters returning, and what felt like a "no way in hell this was planned from the start" vibe, with how many new concepts and characters were introduced solely in EW that either make no sense retroactively, or are based on extremely vague hints that could have been connected to virtually anything.
This bothered me a lot. I do enjoy certain characters but that doesn't mean I want to see them pushed into the story as much as possible, even if they might not belong. I want them done justice and if their time is up, then their time is up for the most part.
In this case, I'd like to bring up Emet. He has a really, really nice voice, but it felt wrong to have him narrating EW. I'll give Elpis a pass, although I'm sure many will find it debatable. And finally, I don't believe him or Hythlodaeus should've been a part of the finale of EW.
I absolutely adore the character, but it comes to a point where the fanservice feels a bit wrong.
I still hate the Insatiable remix for Shadowbringers mid-bosses. The MSQ from 5.1 to 5.4 drags on forever. And I still dislike the tailing, stealth and escort quests in EW.
All jobs should start at level 1. Make the starting weapons work the same way as Menphina's Earring with attributes that scale with your level. No need to invent dozens of low level weapons. If you want a fast track to max level, there are jump potions.
You know, I don't think I've ever agreed with you in the past. Not on the jobs starting at level one thing - that's stupid. But cutting the fat off of low level weapons with something like 'looms from WoW or Menphina's earring? Genuinely a good take.
I disagree, I think the least thing this game needs is more streamlining.
Inconvenience is what makes video games fun in the first place, without inconveniences what's the point of even playing? Just make everything start at level 90.
