I don't agree with you, but I like your hot take. As it is a Hot take so kudos friend![]()
Hearing the crazys but I don't know why
Seeing the maybes but I don't know who
Hearing the crazys more and more
Noone stop LIMSAS BEATS!
- you should be happy you simply have a full party. it literally doesn't matter how bad people's DPS is in msq content.
- if you're obsessed with having the highest DPS then why are you always the first to desperately spam the LB button
- people who say things like "this is arr content nobody needs an explanation for titan hard" or "you don't need to explain Amon" are the ones who will die first. they'll take several bombs to the face followed by being knocked out of the arena or they'll ignore slimes and then scream at the healers for not healing them when they're all silenced
- your impatience and rushing is making things take even longer. this is really obvious in crystal tower raids when 50-70% of the people just rush to the stairs when the enemies are still spawning in. same goes for tanks who wait until a group is down to 40% HP and then run away to pull more. you are literally wasting more time trying to be fast.
- to all healers — and i say this as an ex-healer main until the middle of shb where i changed to tank — just shut up and throw a regen on the person you have deemed an idiot. if they die that's their lesson to learn. you giving it 200% to save an idiot from themselves only encourages them to remain bad at the game and later on when they're level 90 they become insufferable and blame everyone except themselves.
if you're with a healer who's hyperfocused on keeping a person alive and risking the lives of everyone else because you're now low on MP, out of CDs and distracted then you're not likely going to take any advice that's just "let them die and suffer".
also leaving a paper trail to prove you at the very least -tried- to help them prevents future arguments/blame shifting.
I've been accused of not healing on my SCH, despite Seraph being out and Angel Whisper/Consolation being up on the person accusing me of not healing. Paper trail be damned.if you're with a healer who's hyperfocused on keeping a person alive and risking the lives of everyone else because you're now low on MP, out of CDs and distracted then you're not likely going to take any advice that's just "let them die and suffer".

If someone dies, its always your Fault.
Even if the person who died is being stupid, blind, or not using their CDs.
Sometimes its a tough Job.
Yeah no. Whoever did that to you needs a spanking. The fairy is a wildcard regen with skills that you can deploy at any time. People massively underestimate just how good this is. And that's not even counting the rest of your kit.
The thing with Scholar is that they're not White Mage\Astrologian who can just yawn, heal your stupid boo-boo and forget you ever existed. You strategically burst-heal people you know will take a lot of damage and just passively heal anyone who won't. And the passive heal tools are ridiculously strong, as long as you're not an idiot and aren't taking unnecessary damage.
By passive heals, I mean stuff like the fairy regen and Sacred Soil. And I physically WILL Rescue any and all tanks who refuse to stand in the bubble. It's wide enough to dodge mob AoEs, it's wide enough for you to snuggly fit when the boss does something scary. And it's also a free Rampart on you, especially if you're one of those who doesn't press their own buttons to save their life.
If you're a DPS, or a tank for that matter, and you die while the SCH has those things up, then admit you screwed up.
And if I catch you give a SCH a hard time despite me seeing they have all that crap going on, Excogitation on a tank, maybe even an adlo, I won't care and I will call you out on it.
Because if it's an experienced healer, they likely will just ignore you. But if the SCH is new or is struggling to deal with your immovable butt, then you're giving the poor guy an unnecessary heart attack.
TLDR: Look at yourself for two seconds before nagging your healer. Odds are you'd fare far worse if you had that role.
People's idea of PC only games is rooted in ideas that haven't actually been true for at least a decade. Completely dropping PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 support would be the death sentence for this game as it wouldn't solve any of the "problems" in a meaningful timeframe and they'd lose a ton of the player base permanently. This is nothing more than a monkey's paw wish that would see the game put into maintenance mode within a year. The extra irony on this is that CBU3 would just move onto making single player titles, like they're already doing with FF16, that launch as console exclusives.
If this was still the PS2 or PS3 then I'd be inclined to believe the game could benefit by dropping consoles. However, modern console hardware and software is no longer a mile apart from the PC space. There's massive cross-compatibility in peripheral support with controllers no longer being ass on PC (including game support also) and keyboard + mouse also being reasonably well supported on Xbox and PlayStation. There are still some differences but the lines are very much blurred and ditching consoles isn't a silver bullet that magically makes every game better.
Hot take? Yes. Bad take? Also yes.
