    My hot take is this thread is mostly two things...

    1) Half of the replies are the most controversial thing they could think of to troll.

    2) The other half are completely safe opinions that most people agree on.

    Don't think it matters in the end. Being that FFXIV's a video game, nothing said here about it could really be a hot take. It's just unfortunate that in this gaming age, something disliked is considered a hot take when a long time ago, people would just shrug it off. Idk why that changed.

    Based on my experience here, my real hot take is...

    There needs to be little to no new content in 7.0 and we need a major engine upgrade or replacement instead.

    I called it a hot take because most here seem to think you can get an engine upgrade and 80 hours of story content...and they "goTtA HaVE mUh Msq".

    They could de-verticalize the game (at least a bit) alongside major backend changes so it would be new content Soon it will be 1-100 and then 1-110. Maybe they could have alternative ARR MSQ done?

    Agree on content, hard disagree on things like job design.

    My hot take is that Stormblood was the absolute low point of this game's job design. It was stuck at the halfway point of ShB's formulaic yet intuitive and (mostly) clean design and HW's jank, funny, and hilariously imbalanced design with very few of the positives of either.
