The game has a blacklist system from the 1980s.

Stormblood has the best overall music tracks.
This game is an instant gratification fest.As the title suggests, please share your hot takes on XIV here. I'll go first. The music really isn't all that memorable outside a couple of tracks. I keep many other games' osts in rotation in my regular listening, but not XIV. Furthermore, often after I hear it once when content is new I'll flip the music off and just pull up something of Spotify or YouTube.
Funny. I remember a LOT of people dying in two zones in particular. Maybe not any main characters but to witness so much death and tragedy, along with the realisation that that's only what you can *see* and that sort of stuff was going on all over the region, and then say "everyone is perfectly fine" is a bit callous.
"everyone who isn't a 1 dimensional character created sorely for shock value death"Funny. I remember a LOT of people dying in two zones in particular. That about cover it?

Hot take: Endwalker is a good expansion

During the events of Ultima Thule I was indifferent to the sacrifices made by the scions except for Estinien-whose absence frustrated me-and the twins because they were the last before our walk to the end. I cared a lot more about the final exit of the ancients, the quality of my time with them vastly eclipses most of my experiences with the scions.
FFXIV is long overdue for a new postergirl, hopefully one with a little more going on than Y'shtola. The women in FFXIV that I feel the most attachment to are Ysayle and Venat, both of which give off a more elegant and serious vibe than Y'shtola ever has and most importantly-they actually have a personality of their own besides the occasional sassy remark. I suppose Ryne could have also been a postergirl had she remained part of the main cast. Better her than a character who serves no other purpose than fakeouts and lore exposition anyway.Im curious how people think theres still a need for yshtola. What need is that exactly? Because she quite literally contributed nothing to this expansion whatsoever. You could take her out of it and nothing would change. The only thing she did was the ultima thule sequence and even that could technically be done without her.
Hot take: Yshtola is bland and boring now and seems to only still be around so they can sell their $1000 dolls and merchandise with her since shes eyecandy.

Zenos is a bad villain and his inclusion in EW added absolutely nothing to the overall plot.
