I'd absolutely love such a rework, but I think a very large amount of people would absolutely hate it for sure. An actual hot take o3oHot take: combat needs to be completely reworked from the ground up with an emphasis on "easy to pick up, difficult to master." The job kits need room for skill expression and counterplays, and the battle designs need to be way less rigid. Less dancing around casting the same GCDs in the same spot, more "thinking on your feet". Oh look, light party stacks. Oh look, tank buster. Oh look, raidwide. Zzzzzzz
I'm sure Tataru can sell the carcasses just fine too.
Heavensward is Over-rated.
Stormblood was actually Pretty Good
Flippy Machinist is lame, bring back the Gun Mage. Preferably with that animation from PvP that lets you walk while casting.
I find myself saying "Of course it's a male Au'ra lmao" a lot lately between playing the game and reading the forums.
XIV devs focus far, far, far, far, FAR too much on just making female hairstyles. I keep staring at Edemont de Fortemps hair whenever I see him and I keep thinking, "Man...This would look great on my male characters!" But no, instead we get more female hairstyles instead of getting an equal split down the middle between being able to unlock a male or female hairstyle. The Island Sanctuary unlockable hairstyles are an example of this blatant inequality and over fixation on just pleasing the playerbase that plays female characters. There are players who play male characters, too, dev team! Please keep them in mind as well when deciding to introduce new hairstyles.

It would have been good if the hairstyles were more gender neutral, but it isn't the case, there's way more feminine options than masculine.
They should add variety, alternate between each style they add.
Even female characters would win by having more tomboyish options.
If a hairstyle doesn't look cute on a female Miqo or Lala, we ain't getting it.XIV devs focus far, far, far, far, FAR too much on just making female hairstyles.
