About those random tell raffle giveaways...

I have to ask but I always get those random tell messages of a random individual from a different world saying that I'm being invited to a 300m raffle with a whatsoever "convincing" link. I know I can simply just ignore the message but but I'm curious are they reportable? If so what do a report it as?

Those whispers are usually scam. Report them! They want that you visit their website which looks exactly like the SQEX website. And then you have to input your ingame credencials to "win" the gift. But now they have you login data if you do that.

    Cheers

I just right-click report as RMT, because that's basically the intent behind the scam.
They steal your account, take all the Gil, and then sell it to people to lazy to earn their own Gil.

Pro Tip: Official links from SE will always use their shortened URL system and begin with "sqex.to" and will be followed immediately by a slash.
An example would be this link they posted on the official twitter which takes you to the dev blog post about the valentine's event: sqex.to/WYFqu

Also, the scam links you see in tells always have a hyphen after the ".com" instead of immediately following it with a slash. That's an immediate red flag and a sure sign it's a scam.

    Yes, do report them.
    Use RMT or Harassment.
The whispers are from the previous victim of the phishing link, the hacker stripping that account of Gil and valuables, then whispering to all the players on that account's friend list and in whatever zone the character is in, until they are kicked or get another victim.

    2nd scam tell

The first one I received was probably a year ago now, I'd have to check my reports. This new one brings you to a page that looks EXACTLY like a forum page. This is very scary. If not for getting the first one, I would never have been suspicious of this one. Needless to say, it's been reported. But I shudder to think of all the new players that will fall for this.

Not only is the fake login page very convincing, but it's also on a secure server so the little padlock that identifies it as a secure site is there. If I hadn't noticed the extra few letters in the URL, they might have gotten me. Still changed my password and updated my account e-mail, since I'd been meaning to do that, and better safe than sorry anyway.
