    Omnitank fatigue...not sure what happened

With Endwalker I've entered this weird phase where my Omnitank status has gone out the window. I don't know what happened but after leveling Warrior and Paladin, I've lost the desire to level Dark Knight and Gunbreaker.

Don't get me wrong, both jobs are great, but every time I try I feel as if something is missing from both. This isn't about numbers, it's about lack of enjoyment, which is why I'm weirded out because I actually love tanking.

You're just bored of tanking, go do some crafting or something and come back to tanking later

sounds to me you just need a break from tanking brother though the tanks have some issues for sure I suggest doing what I did and play a different role for a while. I have been having alot of fun learning to play melee DPS.

They need to add aggro management back to tanking. You will feel more inspired if they do.

but they won't do that otherwise they'll have to add enmity gestion to dps too, and SE want to make the game more casual with less management, not bring back the heavensward nightmare.

Just to piggyback on the op, I have fatigue about leveling more than one tank. Use WAR for dungeons/mt raids/old content farm/anything, or DRK for raid dps, etc... which is why I’ve waited to seriously start to level any of them until now with gnb and that’s it.

It’s frustrating to feel like one tank is purposely subpar to another or the rest, by design, in x content or aspect since SQEX has taken such great lengths to homogenize them. I’m okay with one excelling at sustain, for example, and the rest being at baseline, but don’t put any below baseline.

There are definitely "issues" with a handful of jobs, and that's on top of just generally not enjoying the play style that a job offers.

I love the idea of leveling all of my jobs and am in the process of doing that from 80-90 again. I _know_ that there are jobs that I'm not particularly a fan of (Like BLM, which I leveled to 90 along with jobs I do enjoy, RDM and SMN). So I just make sure to weave in jobs I like with jobs that I don't typically enjoy. It means that I'm not sitting there playing something and not having fun from 80-90. I would suggest going to do something else and/or level multiple jobs at the same time to provide some separation. I leveled GNB, SMN/SCH, and BRD at the same time to do the rest of the role quests and then leveled BLM and RDM to 90 desynthing all of the casting gear that I was holding onto as I went. Usually I jump back and forth whenever they level.

Also, Bozja is the quickest way to level, but I feel like that would be a big cause of what you're feeling as well. There isn't MUCH difference between 80-90 for most jobs, but there is SOME and who isn't sick of Bozja? I've been using trusts to level instead (though, Duty Finder is a valid option for Tanks/Healers).

That was me in ShB. I still don't have GNB leveled past 75 on any of my characters, and tanking actually became something of a chore (even with friends). I then picked up healing and a few DPS jobs, and now switch roles pretty frequently.

I am presently of the opinion that the most fun use for PLD is as a healer.

I feel you there, the only class fantasies that I enjoy in this game are Paladin and Dark Knight but the truth is... Tanking isn't exactly fun, for the most part you are a DPS but with a very simplified rotation and this is including end-game content, particularly noticeable when you are off-tanking where at most you will throw your "use on ally" defensive on either the mt or someone that needs it.

In my opinion, yeah, there is something missing, tanking itself, as in the job of the role doesn't exactly require much, in dungeons you run wall to wall grabbing everything and in raids/trials you do your rotation while in some instances, switching aggro with your co-tank. The only shared mechanic between those two types of content are tank busters which are very easy to tell when they are coming and it after a while it isn't even hard to manage MP on DRK for instance because you know more or less when the tankbuster will be coming out, especially in Endwalker.

The class design is... Not gonna lie, pretty bad right now, in my opinion, obviously. You are a glorified DPS, but when you compare your rotation to say Ninjas, Black Mages, hell even Bard, you have a very simple and static rotation, often having moments of "Press this one button multiple times just because" whereas DPS rotations are usually busy while sometimes sporting procs that make you react to it rather than just turning your brain off and doing your rotation and the raid mechancis on auto-pilot, likewise, you don't have to worry nearly as much in failing mechanics because more often than not you can survive mechanics that one shots healers and DPS, I am sure you probably heard someone joking "Tank privileges" after you failed a mechanic and just brushed it off like nothing happened while playing with friends or pugging end game content.

I don't know, this is just my two cents, when I started getting tired of tanking I tried getting my hand on DPS and healers, but the class fantasies available just don't scratch that itch for me, even if the gameplay enjoyment is miles ahead of tank jobs. Lately I've been less and less invested in FFXIV because of it.

(Also, I got too spoiled by fast queues to enjoy being a DPS player. Leveling a DPS job is basically 10 mins of dungeon, 15 of wait rinse and repeat)
