We got 580 crafted gear, the market quickly collapsed, many crafted for self, lots of materia went into the oven, lots of macros made it all happen.
What if there was two "tiers" - the standard "catchup" gear similar to 580 and some extra "mastery" crafts for specific slot or two that behaves differently and is more organic...
Say we get a necklace "Epmpty Akasha necklace of X" - you want "of healing" you go to calm places, you want fending you go to places where heroic events took place etc. and you either craft there or attune crystals to such emotions. (bit of sightseeing log?)
Then a combat job uses/buys it. It's an empty so it has to be filled and to fill we get something like Wondrous tails / ARR Zodiak heroes books with maybe an option to select secondary stats (which then determine what trials you have to do to get it). Your item starts 570, but it's crafted at 6.0, not 6.0.5 patch day. Initial upgrade step takes it to 580 and next step requires 6.0.5 savage or 6.1 alliance raid to get it to max say 590.
But there is more. It counts your savage kills (and other kills for other items of similar design). When the item would be replaced you "awake" Akasha in your item - it becomes non-equippable but also you can sell it on the MB etc. It has stats based on the kill count - say for every savage kill you get 25% chance to get savage demimateria - 100% at 4 kills and 2 demimaterias guaranteed at 8 kills.
Crafters buy the items, desynth and use the demimateria to craft high end shiny things - master furnishing and glams.
And there could be items not only for savage but for other activities as well that could require various jobs doing something with the item to then other job could find value in it. You can say to the SE management it's blockchain :P
Say you want some cool shark themed items - you will need demimateria from Akasha fishing rod that captured a lot of various sharks :P What do you think?
