Unable to annul eternal bond

Steps:
1. Talk to Sanctum Acolyte
2. Press "Annul an existing eternal bond."
3. Get the message "Could not annul eternal bond. Your eternity ring is not in your inventory."
4. Check inventory, armoury chest, armoire, glamour dresser, each retainer's inventory and gear, saddlebag. Don't find an eternity ring.
5. Ask someone to link eternity ring to do an item search. Item search returns no positive results.
6. Check calamity salvager and talk to every ceremony NPC in case. Find nothing to do with the ring.

Now I am not bonded to anyone, however the error message "Could not annul eternal bond. Your eternity ring is not in your inventory." is misleading and confusing as I thought I was still bonded to someone from before.

Well Annulment means divorcing in the game. Can't annul eternal bond unless you actually have one to begin with so it can't annul a marriage and divorce because you aren't actually married.
