I can't believe how little of this expansion was voiced

I went into it thinking my settings were broken it was silent so long. Then voice lines were few and far between. Even some scenes I thought would be deemed important enough for it didn't have them. Even the last chats with the main characters wasn't voiced. Why did they not let us hear their voices one last time?

I didn't mind so much with the ending chats, but it really stood out to me in a couple of sections. First, the role quests. I know Fordola isn't everyone's favourite character but she is one of mine and I feel her actor just always completely brings it.. but, nope, major plot moments for her and no voice. Same with the return to The First. I'm pretty sure Lyna has one of the most beloved voices in the whole game and, nope, no voice for her (or in that incredible scene with the Exarch in ShB) or anyone else there. Just... ouch.

Considering how it’s what, four voice actors per character due to localization, I reel thinking how many humans they’d have to bring back to voice everyone— especially for just a line or two.

I did notice the lack of VA in the role quests, but as it’s alongside the msq and the number of characters involved stretches to the point of absurdity I can’t really begrudge that corner cut.

Out loss of voice for most of the time in the First was disappointing, but also understandable to me due to how that was essentially just a layover in the MSQ.

I’m with you on missing therapy time with voiced Fordola, though. She’s probably one of my favorite characters.

They are usually pretty spotty with the VA stuff anyway so it didn't really bother me I guess.

I don't mind side characters and side content not being voiced. But every line of the msq spoken by the scions should have been voiced.

They have never had the Scions use VA 100% of the time though, so it shouldn't be that surprising that they used it similarly with Endwalker.

No but it would have been a nice touch considering this is their swansong in a way. Sure the story goes on but this feels like their version of the ending of wotlk. Especially with how much more profitable the game has become with its popularity boom. But it is what it is, just some odd choices which lines to voice and which to leave silent.

There's been a reduction of many things in this xpac.

Heh.. Maybe not in as meaningful ways as it could have been but there's been as much voice acting this expansion as there has been in any previous expansion.
