As of today, Ninja is the least played DPS job in the current savage raid tier, with only 24,636 parses on record. Next lowest is MCH with 34223, then DRG with 40,570.

My main is and will always be NIN. I just wouldn't recommend them if you're pushing new content. You need near-perfect execution to get numbers similar to RPR/SAM and until you get the timing of all the fights down it's a bit hectic.
NIN numbers are down now because of how easy (and fun) RPR is. It'll balance out later in the xpac once the Savage tier is complete.

I don't think you're going to come near them unless they screw up.
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. FFXIV is not balanced around target dummy performance. The rDPS multiples for SAM, RPR and NIN (0, 0.5 and 1.25) appropriately reflect the rankings we see in the current logs within the margin I would call "similar numbers". In other words, we obviously wouldn't expect a class that provides +5%/15s/60s to output more raw DPS than a class that provides 0%/0s/0s (SAM).
There is perhaps a little more room for balancing vs RPR, but it's within margin that you can still "play what you like" and clear content.
DRG and NIN suffer of busy job you get less reward on dps. While reaper is easy friendly does more dmg. I think they need more dmg or just the kit need to be somewhat like reaper accessibility. I think a lot job feels not great imo.

I really like the current Ninja. I do not main it or play it significantly because of how Ninjutsu punishes you, though. To get the best DPS, you need to hit the Mudras pretty fast. However, if you hit the Mudras too fast, you will up with a rabbit. For the most part, my Ninjutsus are succesfully what I wanted; but, those times during the heat of a battle where I wind up with a rabbit when I feel I should not have are incredibly frustrating. It is just so much easier to swap to another job where you push the button and the skill you want works.
I think ninja needs to have something to make the 1 2 3 phase more entertaining, and please swap aeolian edge's animation to the good ol Dancing edge that alone would help lol
NIN is great; more people should play it!
NIN is my favourite melee among others (haven't try RPR yet though), I normally level it first.
But this time I'm taking a different approach where I'm leveling my least liked first.
So playing NIN will take me a while.![]()
