maybe if they merged the concept for the xi combo system with something like our active time input system we could have a group LB like ungermax

Independent limit breaks already exist, they're called Job Gauges. Anything beyond that would literally just be a fancy cooldown that content is balanced around (dps checks, tank checks, healing checks etc)

LB seems very all or nothing. I can understand lb1 being fairly weak in comparison to lb3, but you’d think there would be situations where lb2 would be preferable to lb3 or lb1.

I’m not sure why that middle tier exists, or what it could be instead.

i mean.... tank lb3 is just plot armour at this point. if you need it, they'll just fill it up right before you have to use it.

Depending on performance and specific duty, there is enough Gauge generation to perform LB3 and then Lb2.

Tank LB3 is great for prog in savage, it's used in several places to cheese mechanics at lower ilvls, for example p2s third arrows

I'll always advocate for a FF9 Trance style system.

Every player has their own Limit Break.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

But that exists already in the form of job gauges and capstone cooldowns. Most jobs have a skill or buff that empowers them for a short time that bolsters their healing/tanking/or damage. That's literally what a trance or limit break would otherwise do. At any rate, it would still be, at the end of the day, a cooldown you press and content would be balanced around it and would just be another thing you manage or store for burst windows or mechanics, exactly like current job gauge skills.

It's basically just used by melee dps 90+% of the time, occasionally it's for healers to save everyone from a wipe and once or twice an expansion they have the obligatory boss the tanks need to lb3 on your the party wipes.

Personally I would love to see a system similar to LOTRO's fellowship maneuver. If you've never played that game it's a system that when triggered the whole party the option of a damage attack, DoT attack, Heal or mana back move. Depending on what each person presses a different big animation attack occurs with different effects.

I'm not suggestion exactly like that, just think that limit break system feels abit boring for most players, wanted to see if anyone else feels the same and what you all think should could be done that would be more enjoyable and involve the whole party or even have independent limit breaks for each character?
I'd like for the healer LB to be turned into a reincarnation+group rez...)
