So.... why the Races from FFXI?

When I first saw XIV, I was really hoping for an MMO set in the FFTA, FFTA2, FF12, FFT universe. Y'know, these guys:

Humes


Viera


Seeq (hey, if people play Galka, they'll play these guys... ) lol i'm a terrible person.


Bangaa (hell yes I'd play a lizard man. Wouldn't you?)


and Moogle


And these guys... (i forget the name?)


I mean, the world was already there. 12 added the vast amounts of Lore. FFTA1 and 2 proved the versatility found in the races. From my point of view, all XIV had to do was build a game around all that, and I'd have been ecstatic.

Instead, my first reaction when I saw this:



was, "Holy crap, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY TARU"


I'm over it now though. No sense in crying over spilled milk. Is what it is.

Plus 3 internet points for the giant Lala pick. Anyways, I didn't like the ugly creatures, it would have been a beast for them to make the armors for Seeq and Bangaa. Plus Galkas are way better than Seeq. It wouldn't have been a nice change of pace, except for ugle Seeqs and Bangaa.

ME and a friend got married on FFXIV, I was Taru she was Elvaan. We joked that we had an Elru kid. When I saw the Lalafell I was like "OMG, our kid".

I guess you mean XI?
