So.... why the Races from FFXI?

First off we all know the races are carbon copies of what we had in XI. Denial isn't why people are correcting you, they are doing so because they've made a divide between XI's lore and XIV's and expect you to do so as well because that is what is intended.

The original dev team obviously had letting go issues..

You say no one has denial issues yet you can say this bull? The races are the same for the people WHO WERE MOVING OVER FROM FFXI AND WANTED TO RECREATE THEIR XI CHARACTER. It's as simple as this, this is the SECOND FINAL FANTASY MMO just like every damn generic MMO out there has an Orc, Troll/Midget, Elf and Human race of some kind...no different. They look similar, but they have completely different backstories, but if you play both games, you can still call them galka/hume/mithra etc because that's the name most people used for years.

Yet people would be perfectly ok with them using Ivalice races...XIV players can be such hypocrites about their hate.

MEH. All I want is my viera and lamia races.
