It used to be the other way around a very good tank could not enjoy the game because very bad DPS didn't know "Diversion" existed which reduced their aggro so tanks had to go into tank stance losing damage to make up for slacking dps.
So I have no idea why this is in tank roles, enmity management has always been a group efford and not just tanks until they buffed tank aggro to the actual standards lmfao.

It used to be the other way around of the other way around too. I remember very clearly when the tanks did get so brainwashed by the "aggro stance and aggro combo is bad for you dps, very bad !" META, that half of them didn't even have that in their bars anymore. Even by using diversion and the old lucid dreaming correctly i was taking the aggro back so often that i totally wished for the cooldown of these skills to be divided by at least 2, or even better by 3, for the next expansion. In the end nothing was lost when another solution was put into place, now the tanks can concentrate on their awesome dps like they wanted too, without me getting crushed by the mobs for that.
And were is the GROUP efford when the tank just press damage stance and do nothing to help ?
Very bad DPS with very good tank you can put the TANK stance on, deal less damage but you still play.
Very bad tank with very good DPS you stop dealing damage because the tank absolutly don't care about think like "my diversion is on CD because i have to use it on the trash pull" and you just wait doing nothing or take aggro and cry when the buster OS you.
DPS is a group efford when all the team hit the target.
Healing/mitigation is a group efford when all the team use CD
Aggro is absolutly not a group efford when the tank do nothing and don't give a fuck whatever happen in the run.
Wow imagine having to think about using taunt, managing how you pull and prioritising your aoe to keep aggro and having to decide how much you pull because some mobs hit like trucks and actually thinking about cool-down management.
Right now tanks are just dps wearing tank armor - they don’t really have a tank identity imo.
Agreed, but... that was barely at all changed by "aggro management" (doing a 2-7 GCDs in tank stance before dropping it for the rest of the fight) and not at all by "resource management" (which just meant losing the ability to play for every other GCD after n minutes unless you brought a BRD/MCH).Wow imagine having to think about using taunt, managing how you pull and prioritising your aoe to keep aggro and having to decide how much you pull because some mobs hit like trucks and actually thinking about cool-down management.

You want aggro managment, go paly Classic WoW where bosses randomly reset their aggro list, are immune to taunt and simply onehit any dps that is at the top at that moment or wipe the raid.Wow imagine having to think about using taunt, managing how you pull and prioritising your aoe to keep aggro and having to decide how much you pull because some mobs hit like trucks and actually thinking about cool-down management.

Enmity management didn't really add any significant difficulty to tanking. It just made players who knew how to toggle the tank stance button off look better than they actually were.
Positioning is actually what catches tanks out, and we've started to see some elements of this in more challenging fight design following player feedback.

I still want enmity combos to come back, mostly because I hate having Provoke Wars with randoms... plain and simple...
No one is using Shirk and it's just Provoke Wars with randoms and I hate it...
Yes I did nerco this thread JUST BECAUSE I got sick and tired of Provoke Wars...
