Hey it's the Ultros and Typhon fight! I'm SGE, co-healer is WHM. Things are going fine but I notice there's never a Regen going out. No Medica II, either, but only the tanks are taking damage so far. I glance at the castbar. Cure II. Well, okay, I feel like a Regen would get you away with more but so long as--

Cure I. Alright, I bet they are new to the job. I'll try to word things in a way that'll let them explain their reasoning if they have any, maybe they're just confused, maybe there is actually a reason.

Before I left, I said "I really don't mean to be rude, but whm after 50 is about avoiding using Cure". I know that's an oversimplification and there are varying specific reasons you might use it, esp depending on how far you are from 50, but I wanted to at least say something. If they're using Cure on later trials, too, depending on how they use their other skills they might be griefing their co-healer.

Unfortunate side-effect of the game having portions of it that doesn't twist your arm into using other skills to make smart choices. Regen is definitely cost-effective spell to go to in a trial fight like this one but... if isn't pushing anyone to switch to a smarter way to play, it just allows for one to freestyle as much as they want if they feel like it.

Reminds me of that story I posted a long time ago about this SAM in somh al hard who was single-targeting mobs but everything melted so insanely fast and the dmg I was taking as a tank was so paper-thin that I really couldn't find it in me to say anything.

The scary part is that it's not exclusive to faceroll content.
Just yesterday we had a 3h wipe session to P1s with a WHM that didn't use a single oGCD. They only used Cure I (and lots of them), Regen, Cure III, Medica and Medica II. No, not even Lilies. The next WHM we had wasn't much better. Replaced Cure I with Cure II and occasionally used an oGCD. Occasionally. But the majority of the time was spent standing around and randomly throwing Regens around.
It was a lv 90 savage fight and they were single target healing people with Cure I or slapping Regen on someone they ressed right before 8man mechanics that hurt. We basically played with a ARR WHM and they did so little to contribute that they were just a body for 8man mechanics at this point.

It reminds me of my "friend" who mained tank and once I had the misfortune to heal him in expert roulette. He used ZERO mitigation. When I pointed out the fact he said "I never used it and I never had problems".

This mentality that just because you've always done something badly and have always managed to get carried by others, then you're doing fine, has to end.

Honestly wonder how they made it through EW dungeons just using Cure? Those dungeons are challenging until you get gear. At least I found them challenging. I leveled SGE and WHM to 90 and am at 85 on AST. I would say the first two dungeons were scary on large trash pulls. After around 85 it wasn’t so bad.

Unless that person was just talking about raid/trial healing.

Probably with a lot of wipes, a lot of getting carried, and also ofc doing 0 dps and just being a curebot.
I know somebody who says CNJ is efficient enough and keeps using it in all content, magine...and no, not a sprout.

Some tank jobs can carry a weaker healer and vice versa. Also tank should spot weaker healer and limit bigger pulls as necessary so you actually can get a slower good run without major problems. But if the healing is really low/slow then nothing will help.

Everything went smooth overall but one incident was actually quite funny.

Tainted Flood ...everyone prepositioned and spread out.
Then followed by Predatory Sight.
Naturally, I move towards where most of the group is for stack.
For a split second, I notice the BLM teleported to me while I am still moving.
The BLM didn't after teleported and continue to cast.

"Oh no, BLM wants to stack with me. I should turn around and stack with him."
Of course, I was too late and had caused his death.
Gave the BLM a comm as an apology.

And karma hits back at me I guess because in another P2N run, I stacked with a RPR because we are both are far away from the rest.
But the RPR didn't realize it and move to the group at the last second.
That's okay. I'll take this punishment. :')

Queued into Expert Roulette as Reaper. Got a Dark Knight, Sage and Bard.

I've heard stories of tanks who don't use cooldowns. I didn't think they were real. Because, like, why? Why would you play tank and not use a single cooldown? But our Dark Knight did not. He was doing wall-to-wall pulls and didn't use a single cooldown, leaving our Sage to use EVERYTHING she had to keep him alive. He died first pull, because obviously he did - how is a SAGE supposed to keep a DARK KNIGHT alive if he won't use TBN? Sage asked him to use coolldowns, politely! We got an apology for the first death but no mention of his cooldown useage. We managed to get the first boss; thats easy. Next pull, still not cooldowns. Dies again. Sage and Bard both ask him to use cooldowns if he wants to do big pulls. During the pull, he suddenly says "Five minutes" and goes AFK, causing us to wipe.

I apologized to the team and left the dungeon. Struggling through the rest of that simply wasn't worth it.

Took forever to get one, but for the first time over the weekend I got a decent Shinryu EX farm party yesterday. We were actually killing it consistently at just over 4min, and even taught someone a couple of things regarding timing on Surecast/Arms Length usage and that they don't need to click just one button for the active time maneuver. Saw the dog whistle drop 5 times in about 20 runs. Sadly I didn't get it myself, but the fact we had a decent group to round out the night was nice. Maybe tonight I'll be able to get it....then I just need to do most of the ShB mount farming, and try to find a party that can consistently farm the EW extremes(why are farm parties impossible to find these days where you can actually clear content reliably?), since I haven't been able to get a party that can for the past 3 or 4 weeks.

Nothing special today, just a DNC in the lvl 85 dungeon with a 480 ilvl weapon...
