This week's Aglaia loot goes to aiming top. Total attempts: 8 runs, as a BRD/DNC.

Yeah, I won my top after dying miserably at 8th run because I've mentally numb after so many attempts. Guess that's really how you can guarantee a loot huh? At least I don't have to touch the raid until next weekly reset.

Today I learned that Fisk iron caskets were a thing back in the mid 1800s from a random party member in Prae. I got curious and looked it up, and quickly regretted it.

Considering how I can go repeated runs of the same thing and see nothing I need drop, only to have one single run where I mess up a few times or die be the one I get my loot on... yeah. Sometimes I genuinely think the game's got some kind of "pity counter" built in, lmao. It'd explain why the people who play like absolute garbage are always the ones I see walking out with like 90% of the drops in Alliance raids.

Group seems to be making mistakes left and right particularly the healers die one after another after being resurrected.

Finally towards the end most of the raid dies including both healers.

I think only me PLD and RDM and one other is left alive.

A raid wide AoE is coming so I heal the RDM (the group is on low health) they survive and proceed to resurrect the healer who in turns uses LB3.

    We finish the run.

    Wow lol

Just had one of the smoothest - aside from one "oh shit, I might die" moment on first boss I went super for, when he has less than 2% health left - runs of WoD. Only things spoken were at the start, and only in my alliance(nobody used alliance chat the entire way). No wipes, not many deaths, Cloud was down to 10% before she FINALLY disappeared from around the edge for the adds...such a smooth run is rare. Helped that neither of the other two tanks had stance on at the start, so I decided to MT with two SGE as my healers.

Got out of a Crystal Conflict casual match, and immediately after I got a whisper from somebody scolding me for not giving them a commendation for "saving the day." Folks, please don't go hounding people after matches if they don't comm you. This is really creepy, and arguably harassment. I just let it slide and didn't bother responding, as no good could have come from that -- but still, seriously not cool behaviour.

Tell me about it. Then again, it could be that ”Why not me???”-moments.

At some point I had also speculated that our characters has a built-in luck stat that get determined at the moment of creation. Which would easily explain one of my FCmate having an abysmal luck on almost everything they rolled for.

But I digress.. RNGesus and their terrible sense of humors just never click well with me.

This one's more a "what the hell, Pax" than PF, at least not directly.

So, my static is stuck hard in phase 1 of P4S; I would really like a clear, and to unlock DSR, so I'm forging onwards in PF as well. This is sometimes frustrating, because as anyone who has PF'd P4S knows, a frustratingly small number of parties will make it to phase 2.

Anyway. We had a party that almost beat the enrage DPS check with a couple of deaths, and so I had high hopes for it. There were the usual PF mishaps, and several pulls in, my housemates returned from stuff with dinner, having stopped by Panda Express.

Yay, General Tso's chicken! (This is relevant, trust me.)

Then we had a truly tragic pull where right as the DRG was about to hit melee LB3... the SAM got disconnected, and the LB3 vanished. (Nooooooo why.)

We had to stop and wait for the missing SAM to reconnect, and I settle in to eat some of the chicken.

Another pull or two, and I find myself starting to make mistakes that I know better than. I'm puzzled, it feels a little like I'm having trouble concentrating. Well, wait while someone goes to bio, have another few bites of dinner. Weirdly, I seem to be getting progressively worse.

I go to take a deep breath to be like "okay, focus up" and realize I cannot actually breathe properly. I note "Hold on one sec, I need to deal with something." in party chat and poke through the chicken.

Now, one last detail relevant to this story: I am very allergic to mushrooms. Like, "you are supposed to carry an epi-pen (why did you leave it in the car)"-level allergic, though not quite at the "one bite and you need an epi-pen within a minute" levels. And evidently there was just a bit of cross-contamination from other dishes, because there were a few tiny little bits of mushroom scattered throughout the chicken.

I had not only been slowly going into anaphylactic shock, but accelerating the process every time I took a bite of the chicken between pulls. And it was just slow enough and I was just determined/focused enough on the instance that it took me a while to notice. (Hence the "what the hell, Pax" I started with.)

This did, admittedly, at least explain why I was finding it progressively harder to focus, since evidently part of my brain was like "UHM BREATHING IS GOOD LET'S FOCUS ON THAT". Unfortunately (but unsurprisingly), it also put an end to my PF adventures—or anything else—for the night.

I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.

What makes this particular spread mechanic a bit more troublesome than most is the fact that it also has a knockback and a positional. If I'm on a job that has Arm's Length I just use that to prevent getting knocked back into the wrong row. But even then, there's always someone that runs or gets knocked back into me. And I die.

So, I just want to say, SPREAD, SPREAD, SPREAD. Also spread. That's what that marker means. You spread out from each other. If you see me running away, don't follow me. Run in the opposite direction, please.

    SPREAD OUT!

    Thank you.
I hear you. Especially when you're running and then the other person keeps running after you. I suspect the reason most people continue to run is because on their screen, they see themselves as ahead of us, while we see ourselves as ahead of them. What I have been doing when I see someone chasing me with their marker is that I just stop and sometimes even backtrack a bit. 9.9 chances out of 10 other people won't also stop.

Oh, and don't get me started on when I know the spread mechanic is coming and I place myself accordingly in advance, and then when the mechanic happens, another player moves to where I already am and just... stands there. Like, my dude, I was there waaay ahead of you. Look for another spot.

Pretty uneventful lately, haven't been playing as much. But getting a comm in Ridorana as DNC after I made 0 mistakes and had good mit timing did give me a warm feeling in my cold heart.

Playing SCH, however, remains painful when I have a SGE co-healer. Please stop letting them overwrite my deploys SE I beg of you.
