Had a very interesting encounter with a Mentor MNK in Puppets' Bunker (I am SCH). No, I'm not making a "lol mentors suck" joke, he genuinely had the crown, and not just from crafting.

First boss fight, he dies and uses return immediately. No biggy, we've all made that slip-up.

Only it happens every single boss encounter. He eventually dies, and then immediately returns. Hm.

Couldn't time it right to kick before loot is opened, so I ask to wait.

... But unfortunately, I overestimate my team.


("Why does she sound so self-important in that last message?" It's because I wanted to leave in the logs that I DID participate, so he can't try to pull an Uno-reverse on me for joining the fight late.)


Not thrilled about the people who tried to play kindergarten teacher. I'm sorry you don't like conflict, just ignore the chat box then.

His response to being told to learn the fight was that he'd "rather do P4S with party finder". He actually does very well, but then at about 20% he dies and of course immediately returns out of the fight. Clap clap.

And yeah don't worry I'm in the process of reporting and asked others in the party to report also. I think I'd be less salty if it wasn't a mentor. This is the stuff that leads to good mentors getting heckled.

The most effective thing you could do is name and shame anonymously
Maybe against TOS but that’s why you do it anonymously or do it in unofficial channels of comms
Unfortunately getting involved in their crap in alliance raid is the worst thing you could do cause they’ll just do it again

While we are at it, unrolled loot stopping kick votes is cancer. Even when a player is linkdead, and it’s an old leveling dungeon…

In 8 man trials or 24 man raids, stopping to kick actually wastes more man hours than it saves. It’s shooting yourself in the foot. Better to just shame him

wait... when i die midfight its actually proof that i dont can the fight and never be able to learn it.... so its actually a blessing to the group when i just stand up and dont participate in the fight anymore? omg

In P3S reclear, other melee dps was sticking to me like glue almost all the time o_o ( also stood too close at flames part and wiped us ).
We were lucky because every gloryplume was stack except for the last one, and he was still sticking to me like glue and I had to emergency NIN teleport to a small safe gap on the other side to get him off me.
Just barely made it without killing others.
On the dives he was following me too and I had to again teleport to where he was supposed to stand, I had to do it in the last second to trick him because if I moved too early he'd follow again...

It's a miracle he didn't on the fires, numbers and fountain.
On the adds tho he was back at it again and on the wrong side.

Join a PF to get someone's clear of 89 trial for MSQ (Materia is dead). Do over double the next person's DPS as DNC. We nearly wipe due to abysmal healing on Echoes. I don't get rezzed for the rest of the fight because I have a crown on. (:

I got an old story.

I started FFXIV back in 2019 on free trial, back when the level cap for free trials was level 35. This was also back when Sunken Temple of Qarn was mandatory for the 2.0 MSQ. During this time was the moogle tomestone hunt, one of the awards was the Ixion mount. Only content I could do to earn tomestones back then was Sunken Temple of Qarn, about 17 runs of it.

Each run I would queue as dps, specifically ninja, as Raiton was very useful for stuff like the bees for Teratotauror or the normal ones and also the adds during the final boss fight. My ninja was geared in the best in slot gear they could get their hands on that was level 35, so lots of HQ stuff I had to make myself or aetherial-grade gear.

During one of these runs I get a newbie tank and healer who were well meaning but didn't understand the mechanics of the first boss, Teratotaur. Which should be pretty simple. Kill the bees, stand on the glowy plates to remove doom debuff, try and stun the boss to prevent it from putting doom on you.

However that is not how this went. Wiped to that boss a solid 9 times. With the constant reassurance and wiping and explaining of mechanics, you would think we were doing something like P3S. That boss took a solid 50 minutes. We did clear it mind you, even tho the tanks gear was broken by this point, the only unbroken thing for me was my daggers.

How we did it was very simple, try to stun the boss to prevent the roar, try to not engage with the pressure plate mechanics. The other dps was the only not dead while they had a doom debuff as the boss died, which is how we all passed the room.

The rest of the dungeon went fairly smoothly in comparison despite our broken gear including the final boss.

0 dps sch who's only two skills they knew were physick and succor, though they didn't even top people off
reaper who was seemingly unable to figure out the first boss' mechanics and also kept standing in the bad stuff bahamut drops at the end, for some reason

Dead Ends. playing Warrior.

Burger King SCH pops protraction out of the gate, then expedience. Of course, there's a struggle to keep me healthy, but I wasn't going to say anything.

Towards the end, they decide to comment on how sprint will last longer if I use it out of combat. I've got my rhythm in pulling and know when to pop sprint, but this fool was rushing us and pulling ahead. (I might've been late once due to their shenanigans.) I kept it short and sweet, commenting on protraction.

If you're gonna criticize me on my gameplay, you better be on your best.

Super short one, did Frontline last night. Got into Borderland Ruins? I think it's called anyways (the map with the giant mountain cliff thingy you have to climb in the middle). Red team had like 2500 WARs and were just knockbacking everyone off of the cliff. Fun fun fun lol. They won btw. Pvp is such a dang disaster I can't see how anyone has fun in that mode

Nothing went wrong for this post.
In fact, I just had an expert that went so smooth and clean that my buffs and songs did not align to how it usually does by the time we reach the bosses.
It threw me off the loop!
