Small vent today.

I've been taking a break from healing because the excitement of the role falls off pretty hard once people know the content. But man...healers in roulettes really make me want to pick it up again. Not because it looks more fun, but because i've just been having some baaad healers and it's making the game actively not fun.

Today even i just died several times in different things due to just not being healed ever after unavoidable damage. Or even when i took one vuln stack on something, just not being healed up in the 10 seconds before the big unavoidable damage. Very frustrating, because to me, healing was the baby mode easy role in this game and just watching them stand there and do nothing drives me up a wall.

I had a WHM earlier just casting medica and cure 2 sometimes... in a level 100 dungeon. Not even glare spamming, just staring at the boss.

As a DPS, this happens too often.
And when you manage to save yourself with Second Wind/Bloodbath just to die 20s later because no heals.

I'll throw 2 stories up with Tldr at end.

So on the first week of M1s had finally completed it at spending 4 days on it. So after telling everyone thanks we notice we cleared it 3 minutes before reset. That took us 15 hours on final day to get down pack. So I decide well shoot time to reclear. I get in party and notice the strat is odd but figure ill just try it. Once we get in the leader and others don't say anything, i thought it was weird but shoot who cares its a reclear. Now I do take fault that muscle memory messed me up and I died 2 times. So I talk to the leader of room bless his heart XD bro was real understanding. Now enters a problem player...for got his name well call him loser. I ask party whats a trick to get past muscle memory dude legit tells me to unistall 14....I shrug and ignore him. Once I get the hang I adjust to his style of play. We notice loser keeps dying. Petty as it is I just put a smiley face in chat =) . Dude straight up calls us all trash and worse team he ever seen and left.....guess the trash took itself out. Sadly we disbanded after that.

Second story was minor incident. So me and my friend Mor decide shoot lets join clear party and clear M2s. We wait and we get this astro....well call him Jinx cause oh god this dude lives rent free after what he did. So were going through and Jinx accidently killed his partner on splash / drop mechanic before beat 1. I'm like lol its first run lets shake it off. We manage to get to beat 1 and dude straight up eats 4 hearts and dies. (Me:wtf is going on) so after about 10 minutes we talk to him. He tells us sorry he wont do it again. SPOILER:he does it again. The we get to alarm 1 it gets chaotic but we notice something...the sage is doing allot reving by themself. Now I'm really wondering wtf is going on. Some how by the grace of haedyln herself we make it to beat 2.....dude somehow wipes entire party with weird mistake and tells us Im confused and I think ima leave. We parsed him moments later....for the sake of i won't post it cause you know why. He only did 1.2k damage never healed and didnt revive or use his cards....

Man pf has been a journy I seen my fair share of drama.

Tldr: Finally did my first reclear told to unistall cause I died twice. Only find out problem player was holding us back. 2nd stor: May have met the worse astro ever now he lives rent free in my head as a reminder of what not to be.

So yesterday I got to see a wipe on Ultima Weapon normal. The reason was because our WHM did almost no dps save for a handful of Aeros, was eating aoes and died near the end, forcing the SMN to try to raise them but die as well.

A DRK and a DNC can only do so much, and wipe at 1%.

Second round was almost the same, but we barely squeaked by with the whole party alive.

Healers, please, your damage does help. Please help dps instead of just sitting there doing absolutely f*cking nothing. Not everyone is able to carry your lethargic self.

Moral of the story: pure healing is not a helpful tactics u have dps for a reason please do both healing and dps.

Hailing from games where it is normal for a Healer to HEAL. Seeing that such tactics don't work for FF14 always gives me whiplash. I've been playing the game for a while now, and still, it boggles my mind.

Maybe, DPSers should get a damage increase to make up for that difference?

A dps increase in dps wouldn't help much. Some people I've seen in duty finder are just beyond help, even with The Echo of Shame boosting their damage due to repeated failures.

Playing as DRK and announce in chat "Popping {Living Dead} this pull." and the healer responds positively. Dope, they understand the assignment. Get to near death and I'm near one hit from death with 2 seconds on Living Dead and I see the CURE popup text go off on me. "Oh dear god no" I think to myself as Living Dead wears off and I have no health... *dead*.

I think the fact it was a Cure 1 made it all the more painful an experience. I guess if I popped Living Dead just a tiny bit later my health bar would have been fine but who can plan for a Cure 1?

if you needed the damage from a WHM in Ultimate Weapon normal there's also something else way off.
