Good ol' Jimbo for trials.
We wipe once. People had been dying left and right to AoEs before that, but I think it was the Splitter bait Greg does near the end that got both our healers, and then the SMN. Either way, nbd some people were new to the trial and others just didn't recall its mechanics, since it doesn't come up that often in roulette.
After the wipe, though, our SAM starts yelling about people stacking the moon orb things. You know, the things that make donut AoEs. Which was what kept killing people, because they weren't stacking them and thus left very little room to escape or stand in a safe spot.
I mention that it's better to try and stack at least 2~3 of them in order to minimize danger zones and provide a better safe spot for people to stand in. SAM yells that no, they do damage before becoming donuts, and that's what kept killing him.
Me, having watched him getting caught in the donut overlaps and eating dirt every time like: sure buddy.
We had SCHs, btw! Who always had Adlo shields up! And I had stacked with at least one or two others each time for moon orbs, and you know how much damage we all took when I did?
0!
If not 0, then miniscule enough to not even register to me when I glanced over at HP bars.
You know what was actually killing people? Too many donut AoEs spread out too far and leaving almost no safe areas except on the outer sides of the arena! And also the tank not moving Gregjimbo out of the electric orbs sometimes.
You know what wasn't killing people? The tiny little AoE that the moon orbs do before turning into donuts!
Maybe next time don't yell at people to do a mechanic even worse than before just because you think someone standing on you is what was killing you, and not you just being crap at moving out of the bad.
