Raids just kept the "stay out of the color you have" which is great because they also have "stay IN the color you have" and also "You need to know this attack will come here if you don't want to get hit". So the WORST puzzles lived on while the fun ones died.
Will put you on ignore if you can't form a logical argument but argue nonetheless

Reading all these horror stories remind me of why I never finished the nier raids, and still haven't unlocked the remaining normal and alliance raids past puppet's bunker/eden 5. I dread to imagine how bad Tower will be when I eventually muster up the motivation to complete that final quest, or how much I'm going to suffer Aglaia and Euphrosyne.
At least I have my dungeon roulettes. Those are nice!
Aglaia and Euphrosyne run very smooth right now. People act like Euphrosyne is super easy (that's because a lot of people have higher than min iLvl gear and watched a guide & many do it quite often)Created a forum account just to comment here myself.

I like how we're all talking about people who never try in a terrible attempt to protect themselves from failure meanwhile this person is wearing it like a badge of honour.Created a forum account just to comment here myself.

You're doing yourself a disservice if you don't play the nier raids. They're excellent even with a bad alliance. The music is great and the mechanics are fun.

Edit: (not so) tl;dr: This thread is for ranting about circumstances that are so beyond the norm that we feel the need to write about them. Do not attempt to tell the future based off what we say in here and not only that but these events are coloured by those who experience them -- they're always going to be dripping with bias and so it's better to just take them with a grain of salt.
The world's smallest grain of salt.
... At what point does a grain stop being a grain anyway.

To that BLM in Aglaia…
No hard feelings. I purposely rescued you and your stack marker so you can die alone without taking anybody with you in Nald’thal’s adds phase. It’s either that, or you end up killing group B because you alone decided to stack with their own marker while the other 7 of us were chilling together on Group A spot, potentially wiping the entire raid to Tipped Scales attack.
Sincerely, the SCH from Group A. I commend you for playing the dangerous game![]()
PF makes me livid. Just in a simple Promise farm and apparently I'm the only person who watched a guide. To top it all off I have the infographic up and the very person who is complaining the most and blaming other people is the one that's literally always out of place.
Yes! Seriously, do all the raids you can, they are super fun and there are some great stories to be found as well! Besides, we share these "horror stories" because they're entertaining. Personally, I find it boring when content goes 100% according to plan and there are no incidents. This thread is for ranting about circumstances that are so beyond the norm that we feel the need to write about them. The highlight of the patch cycle to me is patch day. Getting to run the new instances before everyone knows what to do. My schedule allows me to run some content(but not all of it) in the morning right after the servers come up. That means that some of the content i get to do is with full-blind groups. Not just before the guides are written/yt vids are out, but before anyone in the group has had a chance to figure things out. Are these runs chaotic? Of course they are. How could they not be? Some people will recognize mechs others havent seen, some people will sight read new things better then others, and some will learn and adapt faster then others. And every raid is different. Sometimes im the one lagging behind and not picking up tells, other times im the one figuring out how the mech works and explaining to the party.Created a forum account just to comment here myself.

What was the point of this? By all means, play how you want. Im not here to police anyone elses time. But you might be surprised how much fun youre leaving yourself out of. Also, theres still time this weekend to get the pre-reqs out of the way to be ready for a day one alliance raid run in Thaleia if you do change your mind.
Plopped into Mentor Roulette. See it's Rathalos. "Oh, god, I hate this fight." But I go at it anyways. I'm awful at reading the tells so I can rolled around a lot, but my team does all the mechanics correctly and we largely pull through unscathed.
I only realized after the fight that I'd gotten the Extreme version from the Rathalos Scale+ I'd gotten and the fact that we only had 4 people. Maybe I should do Extreme content more often...
That and other certain boss fights make me wish there were less indicators and more "watch the body language".Plopped into Mentor Roulette. See it's Rathalos. "Oh, god, I hate this fight." Those fights feel real good when you dodge everything and flawless it.
When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
