Tanks need a couple swipes at each pack to get proper aggro, especially if DPS are already starting to hit the first. Sprint timing is also a thing. If you're jumping ahead and not stopping or falling back, it's not the tank's problem. If you're a healer running ahead of me, I'm already thinking of my report for when you decide to abuse rescue.

Yesterday, as a summoner, had Orbonne in my roulette and wanted to shoutout to the healers (a mentor white mage and a funny named scholar Emet Selch)for helping the sprouts and making fun jokes along the ride, it was quite enjoyable.

Duties/battle instances are places where i tend to talk more compared to hubs where I do not like speaking at all so having some friendly chat helps me relax from work

Here we go again with the "you pull, you tank" issue.

A healer who happens to grab aggro, or even a DPS player to manages to grab aggro is not trying to purposefully kill the party. As a tank you should automatically take the aggro back. Aggro management in this game is ridiculously easy since you can just grab aggro back with ONE AoE. Just one. There's no difficulty with grabbing adds, not since TP was removed. And as tank, your role's duty, especially with the way FFXIV is designed now is to just be a damage sponge and keep pulling as much as possible and as fast as possible.

It's understandable if players are unable or uncomfortable with doing this, however if that is the case they should get their FC members or even their friends together until they feel they are comfortable enough with the usual speed of level 70+ dungeons, and if they need further practice, Trusts are a good way to do so.

If you are a tank that purposefully let's your healer die just because they happen to get ahead, please consider using "SPRINT" if you really don't like when anyone gets ahead of you. Or better yet, don't be a jerk and risk getting your account banned because you throw a fit over another party member getting aggro. The only exception to this if the party member is running around like a chicken with their head cut off and not bringing the mobs to you.

Oh no, someone pulled me closer to the mobs I was running to anyways, the horror!

I will never understand people getting pissy about other players actively making things easier for them.

DPS/healer hp bars are extra mit for the tank
Some DPS even have arms length so there's another free mit
Rescue is a free gap closer/sprint saver
The tank is literally only required for big pulls, your only job is to hold aggro and get hit by mobs. If you don't want someone running ahead of you and pulling, run ahead of them and pull before them.

But no, let's report someone because they interfered with your main character syndrome /s

No. Someone pulled me AWAY from the mobs I was getting aggro on before I was finished. It only takes a couple seconds to run through my AOE combo and secure aggro. Stop making excuses for people being rude assholes.

The whole YPYT mentality was not born out of malice on the part of tanks, but disrespect on the part of other roles. Let the tank do their job. People get to run ahead because I'm taking the time to do my job right. Should they? Not if they want to test their durability against the mobs. It's common courtesy.

Rescue is meant to save people from danger. It's in the name of the ability. I don't need another gap closer, when I have one past a certain level. You're talking about shaving off a second or two like it matters at all. Maybe you shouldn't queue up for dungeons when you have to go use the bathroom. That's about the only excuse I can think of for such impatient behavior, certainly one that makes people laugh when I talk about it later on.

Bro it takes like two gcds to get aggro, if you're doing a full rotation or whatever then you're going too slow. If the healer rescues you, just go to the next mob while spamming your high threat ranged attack on the mobs behind you, and if the rest of the team is smart they'll bring the mobs that might be on them into your large AoR radius. It's literally not a big deal. The tank's job is, again, to get hit, their job is not to pull. Anyone can pull. Doesn't matter what you think, any attempt of you pull you tank is against the rules and you wanting to report someone for rescuing you just males you look like the stereotypical fragile tank you see on Tales of Duty Finder's subreddit.

Sis, I'm talking about using two GCDs! That is a full rotation!

My biggest gripe lately with DF, is tanks that stop at the FRONT of the second pack of enemies rather than pulling through them so that everything is in a tighter cluster for those sweet, succulent, AoEs to hit. Had it happen on the last 3/4 Expert roulettes I ran, and when things are super spread because of it, not all AoEs will hit everything(especially the targeted ones).

Why do people like to stop in front of the second pack, grabbing them still, but keeping them split?

Queue'd manually into Tower at Paradigm's Breach, as a WHM.
    • Knave of Heart - Nothing special.
    • Hangry - Two other tanks are clueless. A RPR from C had to tank Hanny until tankbuster eats them then for a good couple of minutes I tanked it for whatever reason. In the alliance chat I dropped "Ah yes WHM tank".

Eventually one of the tank Provoke'd... our WAR's Gravy. So she swapped target to voke Hanny instead.

      WAR:"How am I doing, healers?"
      Me:"Wdym? You're a healer too."
      SAM(?):"LOL"
      WAR:"...You're right."

      Poor RPR though.
    • Red Girl - A moderate amount of rezzes, otherwise nothing much.

      WAR:"Look at mee, I'm a healer~~"
    • Last Boss - From what it seemed to be a smooth boss run (outside my tank getting yeet'ed off by building and said "Oh so that's what happen lol"), suddenly it turns horribly wrong at the very end. One of the melee from our group wanted to test if the Front-Rear/Flank AoE will knock them away. It didn't, which they reaffirm in chat "At least that didn't yeet me off."
Pretty soon when the train comes running, that tester did got yeet'ed.

      SMN:"Is that planned?"
      Me:"Umm.." -swiftraise-
-Rhythm Ring happens, 3 other DPS and my co-healer also drops dead instantly-
      Me:"GUYS?? LMAO."

Thankfully that happened at 2% HP left. We finished off the duty shortly. I thanked them for giving my ribs some exercise lul.

"Because my AoE is a circle so I don't need to preposition myself to hit them all "

If you can't, as a tank, grab the aggro after like even one gcd you should turn on your stance lol
