if you want to do a mechanic that most people aren't aware of or don't bother doing with randoms then you need to say it instead of just doing it and then getting angry nobody else followed suit.
sincerely a frustrated tank who during the stigma dreamscape had a reaper die (and constantly hit me with his) laser beam thing during the 1-2-3-4 dot lineup thing because he wanted to do the slightly faster way of dodging them but didn't let anyone know, nor did he ask. what's worse is that our healer and other DPS were both brand new to it, too.
even more frustratingly was that he said 'wtf heals' when he died with multiple vuln stacks from not dodging anything on the first boss.
I find it funny that almost noone in my Expert runs uses the safe spot on 2nd boss of Stigma dreamscape and they all just run around trying to avoid dashing. Why do that when you can just... stay, and put some damage in even on melee w/o chasing the boss down.
Love it when Ifrit part of my SMN rotation hits just in that time, I got to safely cast 2 spells and then dash to the boss myself to avoid that bigass aoe. Why noone else in my runs do that, I'll never know.

One of the most common stories of DFs that I've heard (even seen some myself!) of since EW dropped are the "lol WAR solo heal", "lol bad healer in general", and "DRK is bad". Today I'll have to add one more to the list for I just got out of duty and witnessed it again: "RDM playing off-healer".
50-80 Roulette: Anamnesis Anyder. Cool, something from ShB.I feel nostalgic already ;_;
Queued in with my friend (WHM) as a WAR. We got paired with two sprouts: SAM and RDM, the latter was a first timer.
SAM had a fatal attraction to bad stuffs, died a couple of times in each boss encounters. They weren't even new with all those played jobs and 3 or 4 lv90 jobs so who knows what's their deal... RDM being new was actually doing marginally better than the SAM. Like the SAM however they ate few bad stuffs but such is to be expected from first timer.
At 2nd boss in this dungeon is usually when I expect first timer to start dropping like flies or at least stumbling here & there; which they did. SAM included, for whatever reason. They never respect the res invuln timer and always res at the worst timing ever. Res invuln didn't even last longer than 2s as they press that Meikyou Shisui juuuust right before the next raidwide happens. Down they go, again.
Did I mentioned about RDM playing an off-healer? This is when the RDM started to do just that. Vercuring themselves and everybody else, thinking that they're helping my friend. As well overwriting my friend's hardcasted Thin Air+Raise. Perhaps out of safety or concern for my healer friend but... this infuriates them.

[3] = SAM
[4] = RDM
Okay so they've asked to not overwrite their raise... but then this happens again in 3rd boss when the SAM died again:
They've overwritten their raise again.
While I could understand their reason and hilarity behind the frustration, my friend's response wasn't ideal & could get themselves into trouble. I had to break away and told them to cool off a bit; continue another time.
haven’t had anything to share in a while, but not too long ago i had an odd experience with a white mage while i was tanking ala mhigo (as drk) who made some very… interesting choices in what skills to use.
now, think of what’s available to a white mage at level 70. now, here’s which of those i did NOT see them use (based on what i saw being cast during the dungeon and what i saw reading the in game combat logs after): holy, divine benison, benediction, asylum, tetragrammaton, afflatus solace, plenary indulgence.
and here’s which of those i did: stone 4, aero 2, cure 2, medica 2, assize (exactly once), regen (also only once, on one of the dps), and, strangest of all, the healer limit break an entire 3 times. it wasn’t even when we were in danger, really, they seemed to be just using it for the sake of doing so. somehow with liberal use of mitigations and abyssal drain i managed to make it through while only dying once… at which point they swiftcast rezzed me with all the mp they had saved not using most of their skillset. thanks.

My only guess is that they thought LB was just another personal cooldown. Not sure how someone at that level still doesn't know it's shared by the party, but maybe it's a booster who didn't bother to do their homework after skipping class.

Gotta say, of all the things to get annoyed at while playing healer, I can't say that having a RDM or SMN toss out some quick raises has ever gotten under my skin. Shooot, they wanna save me the trouble? The Vercuring may be a bit more questionable though depending how how the party's HP/MP were looking and if your friend had it under control. Kinda like the Clemency thing. I think in most situations they'd probably be better off DPSing still. The same could probably be said about the raising as well, but it's just a loss of one GCD and if it lets a healer focus on something else, cool :3
But in that specific party, could it be that the two DPS were friends perhaps? Maybe the RDM was just trying to help out his bud who was eating everything in sight.
Yeah, that's a very strange thing to get annoyed by. lol I play SMN fairly regularly lately and there's almost always some overlap of raises at some point. Played RDM a lot in the past as well. Not once have I had a healer tell me to stop raising. SMN and RDM are often praised for being able to do so.
Good job with the de-escalating of friend, when feist is high it can be most difficult to know when breaks are needed.
Can understand through! Especially on the White Mage, we have very limited ogcd healing stuffs and I time out use of them for maximum value. This means allowing party members HP to fall lower especially for bene. Becomes mildly infuriating when the summoner or red mage decides they are the healer now while I sit experiencing demise inside at all the wasted deeps. No no really, please stop.. Am planning living dead into bene and you are not assisting with your verdumb.
Every vercure is lost damage which prolongs the fight. White Mage kinda stinks if too many are taking needless damage and fight is taking too long. Limited MP economy combined with dps negative lilies does not a happy lala make. Square should remove gcd healing spells from deeps classes it promotes bad play.
So I just want to apologize to the group I got matched with in Copied Factory) yesterday, for my more than questionable performance. (I was on BLM)
Long story short, I decided to level BLM as my next job from 80 to 90. However I never touched the job again after getting it go 80 in 5.1 so I am more than rusty wit it.
The plan was simple practice abit on a dummy, then go into alliance roulette (the only roulette I do atm)
While I stand in front of the dummy I do the mistake of signing up to see how long the que will take, says 15minutes so I think to myself that should be ok to get some practice in.
Turns out 15minutes was a lie and it was only like 45 seconds, me misclicking cancel with accept and of course I get a lv80 duty. (Copied Factory)
Sorry I played awful, I really tried. Thank you for not booting me <3
