Happy New Year! Happy New MMO!
Are you just starting out with FF14 and have you or do you want to get the full version and then dust off a few free extras? Perfect! Because it's really easy! All you have to do is enter one of the friend codes in the moogle station.
Unfortunately, it is only possible at a time determined by Square Enix. And that's after purchasing the full version and before you've paid for game time for the first time. If you own the full version and you're in the 30-day free game period, it's fine, because it doesn't count!
The Friend Code entry option is located at the bottom of the Moogle Station page. Simply enter and then buy game time and you will receive some free extras: special currency for equipment, XP Bonus, e-Motes etc. - and of course I also get something from Square Enix - Win/Win![]()

I also started with FF14 about a week ago & therefore leave you the tip that I would have liked to have received at the start: If you start on one of the servers with Extra XP the first levels come very fast. I wanted to use that and get ahead in my job as quickly as possible and then switch from Gladiator to Paladin. What I didn't know was that the job change (job level 30) is also tied to the main questline level. You have to be level 20 in the MSQ (and you get your first mount too).
So keeping the two different levels in balance is a very good thing to do at the beginning, IMO. Since you are also adjusted by level in group content such as dungeons (in my case often about 10 levels down) and all skills are "lost"/greyed out that you did not have at the downgraded level and are therefore not usable, that was a bit frustrating, because I just couldn't use the great new skills (Here's an example: Job level is 35. Dungeon is 20. So you can't use skills that you got between level 21-35).
Enjoy Final Fantasy 14![]()
