Fish Crackling Flounder: Any change to drop rate?

Hello All

I tried to catch that fish earlier today. I tried both possible baits: Versatile lure and popper lure, with patience, without patience, using prize catch, ambitious lure, using nothing, .... No way.

Problem: Although it is said that this fish is common and easy to get, I don't achieve to catch one.

My question: Did anything change about that fish? Location or/and bait or/and drop rate?

Any info welcome. Thanks in advance.

Never chased this particular fish, so i cant say if its changed in any way. If the fishing site i look at is accurate id probly try to tackle it like this. Cast using versatile lure, if you catch betta or redbelly ignore, if you catch bowfin surface slap. That looks like itd be best odds. Again, if im looking at accurate info.

Thank you Frizze for your answer. Yesterday, I finally achieved to catch one (and then an immediate second one thx to Identical Cast). For me, the trick was to test using snagging on: I got it at my immediate next try!

However, as it was just one unique time, I don't know if snagging on is a real solution or was a coincidence. Time will tell if I ever go for that fish again.
