This uses the old arcanist style spells and DOTs alongside the new arcanum summons of Endwalker. Gameplay highlights:
- Arcanum generation is now seperated from trances, and introduces flexible trance duration and recast time
- Bio/Miasma/Bane spells are back, along with a new short duration DOT from Garuda & Ifrit
- Deathflare is completely separated from DWT, now a spell (GCD) that removes all DOTs from targets dealing instant damage for each and castable anytime
- Your summons empower/attune up to 3 different actions at max level: Gemshine (short GCD "combo"), Aether Conduit (resource based oGCD attack), and Precious Brilliance (oGCD support action)
- Aetherflow resource (now Volatile Aether, or VA) is fully fleshed out with 11 total actions, some with shared keybind
- New resource system Primal Aether tied to VA actions, unleashed with a redesigned Tri-disaster spell unlocked at lv 60
- Both Bahamut/Phoenix have interesting and unique gameplay loops that tie into your existing actions
- Ruin III is more prominent as filler while Ruin II/IV are MP intensive weaving tools (makes MP significant as a resource)
I really disliked 5.0 Summoner and started making this with permanent summons in mind, but the arcanum summons (especially the lv90 models) are pretty cool. Outside of this the job just feels incomplete and spammy (ruin, ruin, ruin). No resources to speak of (Aetherflow is just kind of.. there). Also doesn't feel like a caster job. One reason I prefer the old Ruin III over any of the new fancy attunement nukes is that it had both a cast time AND a projectile animation.
Probably not going to see much change to the job but I wanted to finish this for funsies. Hopefully they at least give us a unique chaining combo to each summon (kind of like Crimson Cyclone > Crimson Strike) that unlocks as you're leveling up. Leveling is an absolute chore.
