I just want to be able to grow my own thavnairian onions, INDEPENDENTLY, so I don't have to pay near half a million gil at the market board. Yeah, my chobo's currently locked at lvl 17 but no way in hell I'm shelling out more money just for 3 levels.

I want it to be instanced housing. That is it. No need to add new systems or any other stuff. Just let me have a house.

As much as I would love to dream, I think it will be a few click spots per day to gather some resource that slowly opens up pre-positioned farm item exteriors.

While I would love more, I doubt there will be any customisation, no ability to grow normal crops, and inside of a week it will be dead content.

(I'd love to be proven wrong on this)

Animal Corsing should be illegal.

In all seriousness though my only worry is that it becomes another Stronghold System from World of Warcraft, but it's not really a huge worry. I don't think the community is as antisocial as WoW was back then, and also I don't think that the two are intended to be that similar in design. (I.E. I don't think you can get raid gear from the Island Sanctuary.)

Yeah, the problem with Garrisons is that they:

1. Had Trade Chat (realm-wide chat that connected capital cities)
2. Had an Auction House (market board) with enough work
3. Were required for professions at the time
4. Had portal hubs that went all around the world
5. Had a mobile game-esque system that let you get gear by doing nothing

All SE needs to do is... not that. And it's automatically better.

You would have to be absolutely tone deaf and out of tune with audience to completely miss that key theme that hasn't been addressed adequately in any shape or form.
