Think it's sat long enough.

Think it's sat long enough.

I think it's just that the point is well established and there's not much more to say on the matter. I've seen Zepla discuss this topic recently which is great. It's nice to see QoL topics get some traction in the FFXIV streamer circle, as they can bring up these discussions in future interactions with the development team as they attend things like the media tour and whatnot. I imagine there's probably a community management team for FFXIV in their NA department that may compile information to translate and send to the development at certain intervals.

Unfortunately true. Didn't stop the male Viera thread from reaching, jesus christ, 1514 pages though...

With male Viera, it was something that was very overtly noticeable. XIV began by eliminating gender locked races from XI and XIV 1.0, so it was jarring to see them go back on that initially. A lot of people wanted male Viera on principle regardless of whether or not they intended to play as one. With the glamour situation, especially these days, it feels like there are options for everyone in most ways. For me, why it became such an important QoL to talk about was because I've always been jealous of the gear Striking and Scouting sets get and not feeling like there are good enough alternatives for the jobs I play for certain pieces. I feel like I've been waiting for the right set to come out for years when what I want already exists in the game. I'm just not allowed to wear it.Unfortunately true. Yeah, come to think of it... looking back at WoW and even other MMORPGs I've played, XIV - even with the restrictions - already has a pretty robust visual platform to represent a character. With the exception of some key pieces like the 2B thigh high boots/panties, tank tops, valentione waistcoat (which all ironically are already All Class glamours), etc, or a recent hyped item like the Abyssos gear with sfx, I rarely see any kind of homogenity around. With male Viera, it was something that was very overtly noticeable. You can be casual, bland, edgy, high fantasy, sci-fi, silly... and with the exception of the latter (debatable), most of those styles are also justified one way or another in XIV's setting.
My personal thoughts with the OP's plea is that more freedom will not suddenly open a "Pandora's Box of Glamour", because it's been open for a long time now. What I wish is that this movement will allow us to refine the potential we have so far.
Also another argument over the "but then I can't tell players classes" angle.
Yes you still can, you can see what weapon they wield which is the defining job characteristic. There's the notable exception for like Summoner or Scholar....no wait you can easily tell by their fairy or carbuncle/egi. So yes, unless many players start to hide their weapons, class identity won't get completely loss so this argument is moot.
I'm bumping this thread because I want SE to know that this is a very sought out thing for players.
Just have to say that I love this idea.
Honestly, this is probably the weakest argument so far against the idea. Also another argument over the "but then I can't tell players classes" angle.

Even if you couldn't tell a job at glance... Why would you need to do so in any aspect of the game but PVP?... Oh wait, they have the job icons on the nameplates there.
PVE... I hardly think that any Astrologian sorts their card based on what they see in the middle of the fight, as opposed to knowing the jobs by looking at the party frame.
It's an argument made mostly by the "muh immersion" group that I've seen thrown here and there against unrestricted transmogging. Seriously who cares, let people express themselves however they want I sayHonestly, this is probably the weakest argument so far against the idea.

Let's be real here, if the devs cared about "immersion" as much as they do (or people claim they do), we would be getting a lot more Glamour gear similar to these because they know for a fact people are going to wear it in duties and etc.:
Given that instead we get... this, I can only surmise the devs aren't actually losing that much sleep over it lmao
