We really should be able to glamour other jobs' sets

Not sure about all jobs across the board, but within 'role' at least, I don't really see the issue. As an example, the Etoile set is arguably one of the best looking glamour sets for Physical Ranged jobs, but it being restricted to Dancer means it often gets sidelined by other glamour options for Dancer.

Could maybe remove the specific job restriction from the Endwalker artifact gear as a possible test of such an option.

Right now, you can only glamour pieces that match your role, so there's no restrictions on that. I find removing restrictions from AF gear largely unnecessary, since there's two or three AF sets that would fit another job, as they're clearly designed to match the job they're made for. IMO Specifically the Etoile set is purely Dancer aesthetic and wouldn't really fit Bard, let alone Machinist.

The reason for the no-restrictions proposal comes from the fact that non-AF gear (dungeon/raid/crafted etc.) has little to none role identity, which why we want the restrictions removed. I don't understand why you want them to remove glam restrictions from AF gear, but not regular sets.

I have high hopes for the glamour overhaul that Yoshi P teased. If its something akin to the collection system from WoW that would be a few steps in the right direction in one move. Its also good that he is aware that 800 dresser slots still aren't enough before they've even implemented it. It means that they are thinking about a more long term solution in the future. I would assume that if we're ever getting the glam restrictions lifted, it'd be after whatever overhaul they're planning. Unless its a part of said overhaul? I hope they talk about it in the second part of the live letter.

Edit: I was just refreshing my memory of the Asphodelos raid gear and those sets are just crying and begging to be mixed and matched. Its like they were made with that in mind.

They just look like sets based around a theme to me. They're going to come out similar-looking whether they're intended to be interchangeable or not.

Their own NPC designers should be required to follow the same set of restrictions the players fall under. Any mistakes should be counted against the gear designer that restricted the item and the managers of both teams should be required to report on the number of errors to their management. If it should get released it should be considered a hot-patch required fix.

Yes I know that's absurd but anything to raise awareness of the player pain might help convince them to deal with it.

Just remove all the restrictions when an item goes into the Glam Dresser. You should be allowed to wear any gear you want at any level.

They also need to just do away with the whole nonsense of pulling gear back out of the Glam Dresser. Because who honestly does that?

When you put it into the dresser, it should become nothing but a pretty design to overlay over any similar piece of gear (ie, head to head, legs to legs)

No more of the nonsense that the equipped gear must be the same level or lower than the glam piece. And no more that it has to match job parameters.

That's what imagination is for. Some people might like the idea of playing a bard that wore dancer outfits. There is no reason to be so rigid and lock things out like it does.

Some would like to do so merely because they like the aesthetic of it.
Others would want to do so for RP reasons.

The only real argument against any of this would be from the ones that don't want to see their job gear worn by some other job, because it threatens their identity. The ones who'd complain about a Dragoon wearing a Dancer outfit because they thought it didn't look right, or because they were a Dancer and upset because they felt their job wasn't as special anymore.

I've always maintained the idea that the ability to "de-classify" gear, short of Artifact and Relic and anything specifically given to a class from a class (like Blue Mage) should be given to crafting classes as a high-or-top level function. That way anything that isn't specifically class-restricted could become a Glamour-only token.

Which points out a big argument about "All Glamour" - most of the sets revolve around a theme much more than they do cater to amor weight - or the idea that a tank's outfit should be plated and casters with cloth. In fact, if we take a step back and look at the bigger picture, this idea almost seems to be the exception.

Same. I feel like a glam system kind of like WOW's might fix the issue.

Keep the appearance of the look stored once you earn it, and any class from there can wear it.

The idea of "job themes" is silly, how many casual/modern outfits do we have that don't look like any job?

The limitations of the glamour system is one of my biggest issues right now. Love the game, not a fan of the glamour system.
