This needs to happen, not just because the lines are blurred but also I don't want fill my glam box with 3 chest pieces that look exactly the same with nonsensical restrictions and a limit on top of that.

I don't mind the restrictions where they make sense. I don't want for BLMs to look like WARs but those accessories annoy me to no end. At least it's only 3 versions now and not 5(?).
I'd settle for them just duping a whole bunch of old gear as unrestricted gear for classes to make.
I really don't think a handful of people possibly going out of their way to put together the most outlandish combination of gear is a big enough problem to deny everyone else more freedom, surely...?
Not mutually exclusive (especially if they drop them down to level 1 and maybe even unlock Dyeing, if necessary), I would love it if they added more sets like the Replica Sky Pirate stuff. And yet there haven't been any since...

Yeah got annoyed at caster gear since it's all robes and shit too. I'd stop at weapons themselves because it could get confusing but for regular gear yeah.
Weapons are a no go for sure... even if that one Scythe on the Online Store can be used by, what, 6 jobs at this point? Lol..
The amount of people who are going to commit such atrocities are so few and far between that it really isn't even worth considering it as a reason against removing restrictions. For every 1 such clown you will get 100 or more decent+ looking glams thanks to no restrictions.
Two more examples of Square breaking their own rule - Ugetsu from the Samurai questline wears a mix of Maiming, Striking and Healing armor despite being a Samurai. Hilda is a Machinist, yet has a full Maiming set. I don't understand why it's okay for NPCs with a clearly established class/job to have no restrictions. It's honestly ridiculous.

NPCs can just wear whatever they feel like, lucky them...
Ah, right, I thought about this, but I didn't say it. Accessories would be in a much better place, only having to get, for example, one black choker instead on five or six replicas for each type of job, which would be a win-win scenario both to players and the devs, particularly thinking about how we get to save space for more glamours without them having to expand the dresser.
