Hm, I suggest not getting any hopes for this midway through an expansion. Because if they are smart, they will defnitely save it to be an expansion-selling feature, given the reception that the 2-dye channel got. I'd love to see it early, but just looking at how things are.

You're right, but there's also been a bunch of similar features that were added mid-expansion. The most recent example being them finally letting hrothgar and viera wear hats (which obviously took much longer than everyone expected, but that's beside the point)

Also, I'm no dev but I'm pretty certain that 2 dye channels requires much more adjustments than just removing the role restrictions on gear, so it made more sense to have that announced on a fan fest.

This might be just me not having the patience to wait for 8.0 though.

The way they announce the addition to support some hats for those two races then adds a new mog glam that are, not only overpriced but also bereft of hroth/viera hat support is such an ugly look. It would seem more likely to me that the latter news would just dampen some viera/hroth players' excitement. But I'm also not viera/hroth player so I can't comment much more than that lol.

Maybe I'm getting too worked up over a video game and need to touch grass, but man this is becoming frustrating.

They still haven't disabled the restrictions, and they still haven't even commented on the issue besides the stupid "black mage in a dungeon" meme from ages ago. Can't they at least say something??

With the game and player sentiment in their current state, this would be such an easy win to get back some good will. They could just do it right now, it wouldn't even be hard.
