Speaking of items that look completely identical and suffer from this system for no reason, wanna see something comical?



These are, in order, Makai Vanbreaker's Quartertights(GNB), Makai Harrower's Quartertights(RPR), Makai Manhandler's Quartertights(MNK+SAM), Makai Markswoman's Quartertights(Phys Ranged), Makai Priestess's Skirt(Caster), and Makai Moon Guide's Quartertights(Healer).

Ignoring that the Caster one is randomly called a "skirt" despite still being shorts(seriously, what's up with that? I noticed this while writing this up...), THEY ALL LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME, it's peak frustration with this system that I have to carry 6 identical copies of an item, two of which are exclusively class locked, not even by role...

As a side note, Makai Moon Guide also includes the Makai Moon Guide's Circlet, which is the sole Spider Lily headpiece in the entire game, it would be amazing on Reaper, but it is Healer-locked.

I've made it my goal to make a cowboy glam for every job. The Anemos Hat is perma-stapled to my head, but I try to make everything else as unique as possible to the job.

It is... very difficult. Probably impossible without lvl 1 copout gear. Especially as mRoe when half of all chest armor looks like you're wearing a tent...

What I wouldn't give to be able to use some of the more niche Aiming or Striking gears on roles like Healing or Casting.

The entirety of the GARO Event gear situation is already infuriating enough. There are so many cool designs there, one could mix and match truly amazing combinations with other gear, but everything is job locked. When a new job arrives they are just SOL for getting this cool looking gear too.

Once you have the title achievement for the job in question, you can actually delete all the glam and can always get it back from calamity salvager :3 Should help save some space.

Also... I don't think glam should be restricted at all with the exception of weapons. Unlock it all! For look reasons isn't a good enough reason... as anyone can look like a tank, healer etc... with the right glam anyway lol.

I so want my casters to be able to wear the healer outfit! T.T And the long coat that only my RPR can wear would look nice with so many other class glams!

Final Fantasy 14’s visual appeal is detailed enough for some fantastic diversity, even in spite of the fact, yes, MANY pieces look the same. With the massive amount of armors, yes, that’s inevitable, but with the volume of content created, it isn’t a problem.

I think Yoshi is failing to realize that the desire for individuality is a fundamentally driving aspect of mmo life. The prospect of standing out as genuinely unique from the other miqo, hroth, etc across the room serves as suuuuuuch a huge motivational factor to do a number of things. Rerun dungeons. Try more difficult content, just to get that piece that expresses ‘you’. Opening up glams across the board would be the equivalent of giving a painter 7 types of blues instead of just 1-2. Considering how old the game is, this would EASILY breath fresh life into it from a creative standpoint, verses demanding a sentiment of identity no one asked for to begin with.

I usually remember that about the Nier Gloves, but that one is even more infuriating being locked to a single Job rather than Role. Bonus annoying points for the Gender Lock, too

I'd love to have the ability to glam BTN's fieldsoph's set for BLM, considering it's one of the few sets with a functioning hood for my femhroth (who can't wear any of the iconic BLM hats).

Bumping the thread to keep it visible. I just discovered the most godly combination of items from two sets which I cannot wear due to the pointless job restrictions. I'd share but I'm worried someone will steal it if/when the restrictions are lifted lmao. It's just that good.
