We really should be able to glamour other jobs' sets

To be honest. Why not unlocking even artifact gear? I know "job fantasy" and stuff... But a lot of crafter's artifact sets would make great casual attire and... I would love to be holy monk in lvl 50 artifact PLD gear and just smash things in heavy armour for the light.

But I would be pleased enough with only non-artifact gear.

Oooh oooh and also. GLAMOUR LOG FOR CHRIST SAKE PLEASE.

It would be really nice to have even artifact gear unlocked but I'm on the boat of keeping at least the combat gear locked to classes. It is a unique set that ought to have an identity. Crafting and gathering sets I can get behind being opened up. There's so many cool sets nobody gets to see because usually scrip gear is worse than crafted and it's just tossed unto retainers for the stats and that's it.

And yes please glamor log or something like wow transmog! Won't hold my breath for it but one can hope.

i agree that job artifact gear for combat classes should still be locked, and land/hand gear should be unlocked. its insane that it hasn't. and worst part is that you just KNOW whenever they decide to start they'll start rolling it out in waves like its some great service instead of just unlocking it

Even if they're adamant on artifact job sets, which I could fairly agree on... seeing White Mage gear on a Bard could confuse some; I dont agree locking role gear and crafter/gatherer.
That gear just doesnt justify any job identity, especially if the gear has a certain theme. It's such a nonsense honestly, they have been very dodgy about this for a while now. And I'm pretty sure it would put them some work load on their table. But still, I dont see any reason not to continue this trend down the road.
It's a shame, that we're constantly bombarded with robes (especially on magical jobs). Let us combine and be creative!

While I wouldn't mind having AF locked or unlocked, and I can see arguments for both sides, I'd be fine with keeping it locked if they're so scared of unlocking all other gear.

But I would love to have the crafting/gathering class gears unlocked too, there are so many great looks in there that I am sad I can't use because I can't justify a glam plate for a single class

Agree, give the healers armors. I'm tired of the fucking robes that are always the same design but in black and white.
Give people the chance to glamour crafters clothes into their other jobs.
Just don't lock the armour appearance, we already can glamour as anything but that. It's so stupid.

Honestly, I think to just turn anything that's put in the glamour dresser as an 'image' or like a Lv1 item, where it loses all job restrictions. To me I don't really care much about AF gear, I know I'd like some gloves/boots/pants from other jobs, which don't literally scream 'I'M A XYZ'.

I don't know, it seems weird to me to act so precious over AF gear when the much more old-school FFXI made no distinction where "Glamour" is concerned

I don't think AF gear should be locked either. It's an useless restriction. There's only a handful of sets that are actually iconic, and we can dye them anyway so they don't even keep that look.

You're ultimately running into the same issue with Combat AF sets that the Crafting AF sets have in that you simply don't see them a lot because we don't have sufficient glamour plates to use them over the shared gear. I'd rather see stuff be used and have those options than locked and unused for, frankly, incredibly arbitrary restrictions.

And some classes got notable overlaps in their AF gear like DRK and DRG, both with dark plate designs, with the latter being a tad more spiky. And as I've already mentioned previously, bard outfits fits perfectly for mages if we were to go by previous FF mage designs.
