The new gear, and dual dye channels is making glamor role locks even more painful to deal with. Please fix.

As long as that doesn't include crafters and gatherers, because I need that new BSM top.
It's kind of painful playing a job that isn't a caster/healer in terms of glams because they have two things I really like: The PvP fox-looking mask, and also various items that remove sleeves from chestpieces
The latter is especially good because you can take some chestpieces that are a little ugly and make them look better with sleeve-removing gloves

Honestly have rapidly begun to hate that reasoning of "we don't want Black Mage in full plate". Black Mage in full plate already exists, you already crossed that bridge last expansion! The visual of classes doesn't even matter at this point, most players seem to just dress up as mascots / media references or dress in modern/cyberpunk street clothes / bikinis/vacation outfits. FF14 has a fun cosmetic system full of many great and varied sets that allows for countless character themes, Square needs to stop ignoring the gold mine they're sitting on.
At least it sounds like the dev team is starting to crack on the reasoning though. If people speak up about it ceaselessly, it sounds like they'll eventually break. Kinda BS we need to wait in the first place, but maybe over the next few expansions we'll actually see some liberation on the glam system. People are going to need to scream from the hills, mountains, and towers though. Scream and never stop screaming till the devs get the message loud and clear.
Update the glamour dresser so that you can only store gear you can equip, but anything stored can be used freely on glamour plates. Opens up glamour options while still only letting people actually equip (and roll Need on) job-appropriate gear, and incentivizes trying out multiple jobs. (Also add more plates, but that goes without saying at this point.)
When it comes to job specific armor, like putting a black mage in dragoon artifact armor, I get it.Honestly have rapidly begun to hate that reasoning of "we don't want Black Mage in full plate". When it comes to the basic fending/maiming/striking/scouting/aiming/casting/healing sets though, they should get rid of glamour restrictions. 100% agreed.

They sank the 'role identity' argument years ago. By adding beach wear and smallclothes to the game. By adding emperor's new gear to the game. By adding the sky rat and shisui gear. By adding so much casual clothing, both reflecting in game cultures and more modern looking street clothes. By adding job neutral pvp armor and subscription reward sets.
And most of all, the mob station. Where you can pay money to buy more 'far eastern' clothing, character outfits like Lyse's dress and Omega F attire, silly holiday outfits and even armor. This is a line they crossed YEARS ago. I could buy the argument that decoupling 'can equip this gear' and 'can glam this gear' may be difficult to do behind the scenes in the code. But the idea of it confusing people if black mages aren't always identifiable as a caster etc is silly. Keep the restrictions for artifact gear and main/off hand items sure but this arguement falls flat for the vast majority of the game's gear.

Today I removed all Yorha Type-51 gloves from my Glamour dresser, because they are Identical but I needed several copies for different roles, and I needed the dresser space more. So much space would be saved on so many repeat pieces if we could glam across jobs.
hopefully these kinds of issues with 14 get more attention now that the reception to DT has been mixed, story being so good sometimes had the effect of 14 getting a pass on systems not being updated as often as they should
