We really should be able to glamour other jobs' sets

That's the one part where I am on Yoshida's side when it comes to the whole "Job Identity" reasoning. A Black Mage has no business wearing Dragoon gear. All leveling gear is fair game, but AF Gear should stay off limits and only be wearable by the corresponding Job.

I could easily see a tank or dragoon wearing this… they’re not keeping to any kind of “job identity” with the things they release, and they switch the sets around as reskins constantly. I was of the opinion that AF should stay locked and everything else should be fair game. And then I saw some of the crafter/gatherer “AF,” some of which looks like casual pieces people have been wanting forever, so I’m wavering on that point.

Even the new DNC AF… those “boots” are essentially a redecorated reskin of the older SMN ones. They’re not keeping to any standard of “job identity” themselves, so why should we be forced to?

While having all gear available would be ideal, I'd be willing to compromise by having AF gear restricted if they're so insistent on keeping "job identity" - as long as they let us have everything else.

Let's also not forget that individual pieces matter just as much, and we shouldn't hyper-focus only on glamouring full sets. People often use extreme examples like healers in full plate armor, instead of more realistic and, in my opinion, much more common scenarios, such as a Ninja wearing Striking gloves and Aiming boots, or a Dancer with casting pieces.

individual pieces are why i want to be able to glam other jobs' gear so much. there are so many cute pieces that would allow so much creative flexibility that don't look like they SHOULD be locked to a single job, not even role!, because it's just so!!!! cute, casual, non-specific? pls. i need more boots with variety. AND the crafter/gatherer sets, hello?!? so many people upset about the blacksmith wrap being, you know, BSM only!! ;;

i think: if you have the class unlocked and leveled appropriately, you should be able to access it period. if you don't have the job unlocked & leveled, then you can't bc your WoL has never gotten to that point. but if it has, then you should be able to wear it however you'd like. so it's more of a "stripping requirements from gear" and "your WoL has unlocked it and can wear it however they please".

Just going to use my first and probably last forum post to bump this issue, but I've already started using Glamourer instead. I'm not waiting for the devs to play catch-up with me on this one.

I think not even artifact gear should be glamour restricted. It's painfully inconvenient to use glamour that incorporates it when using multiple different jobs in that role. If you dont want to use it on another job that's perfectly fine obviously but other people who want to should be able to.

plenty of NPCs wear mishmashes of whatever gear the devs want
and yet the players cannot do that, strange huh?
