You gather a Mythril ore---
You sense a Mythril ore right where you are aiming---
(translation: best chance at more mythril if you remain at this depth)

You gather a Silver ore---
You sense a Silver ore below where you are aiming---
(translation: you got silver, but the sweet spot is @ a lower depth.)

You gather a Darksteel ore---
You sense a Darksteel ore above where you are aiming---
(translation: you got darksteel, but the sweet spot is higher.)

Anyone see where i'am heading at???

Sensing is a reaction to what you just gathered, not a prediction of what is to come. if you are aiming at the proper depth for a specific item (aka the sweet spot), the odds are the highest possible that what you want is what you get.

Keep in mind, however, that this is not a guarantee to get the item, just a boost in odds; Plus, many rarer materials have a morbidly low drop rate, even at the sweet spot.
