Going by the names of a few NPCs, in particular the one in Limsa, you can literally mash your face into the keyboard and still be good to go for lore.

The apparent faceroll names can be parsed for meaning:
Ahldskyf → ahld (old) + skyf (ship)
Unsynrael → unsyn (innocent) + rael (doe)
Smydhaemr → smyd (smith) + haemr (hammer)
Soemrwyb → soemr (summer) + wyb (woman)
Roegadyn names are Germanic-flavored, so a lot of the name pieces will make sense if you speak English or German. For the pieces that don't sound familiar, there's Thread: Roegadyn Dictionary.
