Final Lets Talk - Summoner

Yes i know this subject has come up on forums quite often as of late. So i apologizes if people are tired of seeing summoner post. But Summoner is the Job that heavily influenced my love for the Final Fantasy series. It truly did. Yes i started late in the series with 7. When i first got Choco/Mog i was like "Wtf was that LMAO!" Then i got ifrit and was like "OMFG THAT AWESOME!" Then him Bahamut...... i hit puberty.

What would you like Summoner to look like?

I myself do like the heavily robed Summoners kinda like FFT. I actually liked Braska from Final Fantasy 10.



Weapon?

Obviously staff that always been there weapon of choice. Unless SE surprises us.

How will they play?

I am hope like 10 and 11 but with out the Perpetual cost. That was the biggest weakness of Summoner in 11. Instead of focusing on gear to make the summons stronger you had to focus on gear just to keep them out. Or you were only just summoning to buff or heal if necessary. I hope it just a massive mp cost to summon them. They stay out till they die NOT when you run out of MP.

Magic?

I know how foolish of me. But besides Summoning most other FF games Summoner can do either or Both sides of magic White and Black. Rydia from FF4 at first could do both but you lose her for a bit but when you get her back she can only do Black. In 6 and 7, 8 mostly everyone can do both. 9 could heal. and 10 could only heal unless you went into others sphere. (which i did lol i hate lulu)

Now to the part which might make us Rage quit as Summoners if SE screws this up.

Summons!

Ok Since Primal fight mobs will never be able to be a Summoners partner (only to Free Company). That leaves us without the Traditional Final Fantasy summons. Will they get Elementals? Honestly i hate the elementals they are so plain and boring and Never had a use to me in in 11 beside 2 instances. 1 i needed to get the hell outta there, 2 elemental Siphon. Unless SE adds Evoker as a class then i can see Elementals happening.

Another rage quit moment would be if Summoner doesn't get the whole Elemental wheel. Summoner should have The elemental wheel of summons at there disposal and more!

List of Possible Summons!

Fire - Salamander (Final Fantasy Tactics)
Water - Bismarck (Final Fantasy 6)
Wind - Pandemona (Final Fantasy 8)
Lightning - Ixion (Final Fantasy 10,11,12) or Quetzalcoatl (Final Fantasy 8)
Earth - Midgardsormr (Final Fantasy 6,7,12)
Ice - N/A can't find a ICE based summon to replace Shiva. Maybe SE will make one?
Dark - Diabolos (Final Fantasy 6,8,11,12) Would be Fenrir but he was only Dark in 11.
Light - Mist Dragon (Final Fanasy 6) I kinda wanna lead away from Carbuncle sorry guys.

So Thats what i like to see as summoner pets. "But wait you said and More!

I personally like that Summoner to be the Traditional Summoner it was by letting it have Non- Elemental Summons or Multi- Elemental.

Non- Elemental

Bahamut, Hades, Anima,Fat Choco (for the Lolz) Siren, Tonberry King

Multi- Elemental

Kjata, Typoon.

If Summoner can have most of the Other Old Summons i pray at the least they get Bahamut. Every FF4 and up had it. Please SE give Summoner some of its Roots back. If your following Dragoons Lore that they dont use wyverns follow Summoners in having Bahamut. Please Yoshi-p from 1 Summoner lover to another!

Bahamut most definitely will never be a summon xD so far we know we'll get lesser summons as pets if summoning does become a class/job, the example, Carbuncle.

There's really no Dark or Light in XIV, it's more of a mix that created Umbral and Astral so the elemental setup will get skewed eventually.

i would THOROUGHLY enjoy if they make it either Like the Fights in 11 or 14 fights or make it like 10 where you have to Walk all over the world to get them.

I'm not sure about that, considering how easy travel is.

Of course with the way some Atherytes look in the 2.0 concept art, it may not be quite so easy to get around by the time summoner comes out.

Never say never...lol I know the odds of Bahamut being a summon is very low...

But I remember when SE said for FFXI "we will never ever raise the level cap...ever." then sure enough..few years later..lol level cap raised! Anything possible =P
