    Just observation and trying a lot of things on together for glamours, and seeing how they interact.

    From the basic knowledge that the character model is assembled in pieces, with parts of the body switched out for dressed lookalike pieces, you can start to understand how it goes together and the rules that the gear pieces need to follow.

    There are only a few set lengths of gloves in the game, and long ones always have a band at the top, even if they're not solid fabric all the way up – look at things like the Ravel Keeper mage gloves that have bare arms (though model-wise the arms are actually part of the glove model) and a metal armband at the top where they connect to the body model to hide the join between the model parts.

    AFAIK, even the one glove that looks like it breaks the rule ends up following it.
    I can't remember the name of it, bit I use it on my BLM and Reaper.
    It's from Heavansward IIRC, it has one armored sleeve with the other arm completely bare... except for one small band at the top, In the exact same place the band from the Ravel and Caster PvP gloves have it.
    Which basically just confirms your theory on how it works lol

    That's definitely one, but are versions across a few different gearsets.

    Eikon Leather = Casting, Maiming, Striking
    Atrociraptor = Aiming, Scouting

    So that's all the DPS types covered. No versions for tanks or healers currently though.

    And yeah, if you look at the armguard model on Garland Tools (under the 3D tab), you can see the whole right arm is treated as part of the "glove".
