Lost items, GMs don't give a hoot

I spent several hours farming Snurble Tufts, Sheepskins and Karakul Fleece last Thursday in hopes of crafting Felt and Woolen Yarn to raise my Clothcraft level. I soon realised that Karakul Fleece was hard to come by, and I didn't have the Leatherworking level necessary to convert my Sheepskin into Fleece.

So I went and bought from the Market Wards 2 stacks of 99 Fleece and 1 stack of 99 Karakul Fleece.

I tried to craft Woolen Yarn, my character sat down and at that moment, everything freezes, I get R0 in the corner and the game logs me out with a server error.

I didn't think too much of it then, and I logged back in yesterday to craft some +1 undies for my wife's character. And today I logged back in to work on my crafts, and can't find my 99 Karakul Fleece.

    They're gone.

    240k gil worth

GMs basically say "We won't help you, suck it. Please find a list of items we actualy do give a ---- about on this page: blah blah blah"

I had to buy another stack today because of that.

    How is it my fault?

That's about 7 billion on a scale from "zero" to "unhelpful"

    Thanks a lot. Square Enix.

Sounds like a rollback. Do you by any chance still have the money that you paid for the fleece? If so, you lost nothing.

no, I was at about 3.25 million when I bought it, bringing me down to 3.0 million gil after purchase. That's what I had when I noticed something was wrong. Items gone, gils gone.

Now I'm at 2.8 after buying another batch =/

I do have the 2 stacks of Fleece (one of them has 97 due to the Woolen Yarn crafting attempt taking 2 away), and whatever small amount of Karakul Fleece I had from farming before forking out the cash for more.

Given my character's finances, 240k is a very significant amount (I know endgame players can spent several millions without breaking a sweat, but that's not my case yet).

I wish I could have noticed earlier.

I'm siding with the GM's on this one. 200-400k in this game is easily earned back.

    Sorry pal.

in FFXI i remember it being you can get one item back and only one back so should be the same in ffxiv i don't think you want to waste yours on something little as 240k. it does not take days or week to get that money back me mining for 1-2hour or fishing for 1-2hours or even logging could make that money back or even partying and getting random drops then selling a lot of junk to a npc.

for lost item the best thing we can hope for is there some how we can get them back in 2.0. sorry for your lost but really it may be big deal but it's not.

I'm probably the least hardcore player that visits these forums regularly.

My armorer is still around 35ish. I don't craft very often. I sell gear every now and then and tend to make about 100-200k in a couple of days. I don't know how you're selling, but as high as your weaver/leather is, you shouldn't have any trouble gaining back that lost gil.

    Greetings Inzoum.

I am sorry to hear you lost a stack of 99 Karakul Fleece when getting disconnected. I wish there was a way we could help but unfortunately we currently do not have a service to return any items that were lost due to a disconnection. I would suggest leaving feedback about our current policies. The feedback section can be found through http://support.na.square-enix.com/ > FINAL FANTASY XIV > Contact > Suggestions & Feedback. Any comments, suggestions, complaints would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you for your understanding.
